Comparison Of The Implementation Effectiveness Of Gender Mainstreaming In International Organizations And Exploration Of Its Development Potential

Gender equality is a global issue of great importance concerning the future and development of the whole human beings,which has been discussed and argued about for long.The latest fruit of gender equality is “gender mainstreaming”,given birth in Beijing Action Plan which was passed on the Fourth World Conference on Women held in Beijing.Gender mainstreaming is a strategy that has absorbed the essence of former theories of gender equality and included brand new aspects enlightened by present progress made by the society,which therefore matches the need of gender equality cause in the new era.By comparing the gender mainstreaming status within three global organizations,that is UN Women,International Monetary Fund and European Union,it is apparent that though gander mainstreaming is a young theory,it has already fulfilled some goals and has great vitality and potential.By comparing and concluding the practice with the three organizations,some lessons can be learned by more organizations to boost the advancement of gender mainstreaming and gender equality around the world.
