Research On Plague In The Late Qing Dynasty And The Republic Of China (1910-1930)

BackgroundThe Journal of Chinese and Western Medicine was published from 1910 to 1930 and had a long publication time,during which most of modern plague occurred.At the same time,among many medical journals,Chinese and Western Medicine Journal is also the journal with the most plague articles,including 53 plague columns and 143 plague related articles,such as medicine and health,infectious diseases,etc.The journal of Traditional Chinese and Western Medicine publishes a variety of plague articles,including popular science,the latest research,news,government announcements,etc.As a medical journal,the articles published by the Journal are more professional and rigorous.In terms of plague research in the Republic of China period,no one has systematically and comprehensively sorted out the materials in The Journal of Chinese and Western Medicine,and analyzed the plague issues in modern times mainly with these materials.MethodsThis paper systematically and comprehensively sorted out the articles related to plague in The Journal of Chinese and Western Medicine,and used them as materials to summarize the name,diagnosis and prevention of plague at that time,and analyzed some social problems under the epidemic situation.ConclusionWhen plague breaks out,the cooperation of government,society and people is needed to achieve the best effect of epidemic prevention.For epidemic prevention,the most effective is to establish a public health epidemic prevention system.As a medical journal,The Journal of Chinese and Western Medicine constantly propagandistic and popular science in this process,opened up the wisdom of the people,and made contributions to plague prevention and the formation of modern public health concepts.At the same time,published in the Journal of Chinese and Western Medicine,those histories have been preserved and become valuable primary materials.
