ObjectiveConstructing the mobile information platform of pressure injury to optimize and informationize the management of pressure injury.Through the preliminary utilization of the pressure injury mobile information platform to evaluate the practicality and feasibility of the platform, and find out how satisfied nurses are with the platform.Methods1.Construction of pressure injury mobile information platform(1)To investigate nurses’ requirements for pressure injury mobile information platform.A questionaire survey was conducted.Using the pressure injury mobile information platform requirements questionnaire,a total of 770 nurses from the clinical department of a third-class hospital in Lanzhou City,Gansu Province, were cluster sampled for questionnaire survey.(2)To determine the function and content of the platform using the expert correspondence method, and develop it.Delphi method was conducted.According to the results of the requirements survey, two rounds of expert correspondence were developed to form a mobile information platform for pressure injury. An information technology team was commissioned the development of the platform.(3)To assess the usability.A questionaire survey was conducted.Inviting two departments to test the platform with our research team, and a total of 17 nurses were randomly selected, and usability assessment by the System Usability Scale(SUS).2.Application of pressure injury mobile information platformFrom January 2021 to December 2021,a third class hospital in Lanzhou city,Gansu Province was conveniently selected to carry out preliminary application of the platform.On-site survey method, working hour measurement method, questionnaire survey method, and semi-structured interview method were used to investigate the practicality, and feasibility of the platform and satisfaction of nurses.Descriptive analysis,t-test,chi-square test, nonparametric test were used to analyze the data.Results1.Construction of a pressure injury mobile information platform(1)Requirements survey: In the requirements survey of 632 nurses,527 people(83.4%)of the nurses expressed their willingness to use the platform,509(80.5%)"need to use" the platform,479(75.8%)thought that they could "use the platform well";the requirements scores of the four functions of the platform from high to low were:quality control function(4.28±0.78),reporting function(4.25±0.81),prevention function(4.25±0.79),and risk assessment function(4.18 ± 0.82).(2)Expert inquiry: After two rounds of expert inquiry, the pressure injury mobile information platform includes four major functions: risk assessment function(9 items),prevention function(28 items),reporting function(16 items),and quality control function(12 items).(3)Usability assessment: 17 nurses completed a SUS survey, and the mean SUS score was 79.12±5.87,which indicated a good usability.2.Application of pressure injury mobile information platform(1)Practical evaluation: After the application of the platform, the writing specifications of pressure injury nursing documents were significantly better than before(P<0.05);the incidence of hospital-acquired pressure injury didn’t change from pre-application(P=0.057).the qualitative interview results showed that the nurses believed that the reminder function and review mechanism of the platform have increased the rigor of the work;the platform had comprehensive evaluation and reporting content, and nurses were satisfied with the practicality of the platform.(2)Feasibility evaluation: After the application of the platform, the working hours for nurses to assess the risk of pressure injury in newly hospitalized patients were significantly less than before application(P<0.05).the qualitative interview results showed that most nurses believed that the platform was easy to operate,time-saving and labor-saving,and had good feasibility.(3)Satisfaction evaluation: The results of the satisfaction questionnaire survey of745 nurses showed that 82.7% of the nurses were satisfied with the accuracy of the data,82.1% were satisfied with the ease of use of the platform interface,81.8% were satisfied with the timeliness of information,79.7% were satisfied with the effectiveness of the operation, and 79.5% were satisfied with the applicability of the content,76.1% were satisfied with the overall platform, and 75.1% were satisfied with the security of the platform.the qualitative interview results showed that the nurses were satisfied with the simplified workflow of the platform and the convenience of real-time quality control, but believed that the platform, such as the use of terminals, still need further improvement.ConclusionNurses’ willingness and requirements for the pressure injury mobile information platform are relatively high. The pressure injury mobile information platform includes four major functions: risk assessment, prevention, reporting, and quality control;the usability is good. After the initial application, the platform showed strong practicality and good feasibility, and nurses were highly satisfied with the platform, which indicated the pressure injury mobile information platform worthy of clinical application and promotion. |
