ObjectiveTo develop a needs assessment scale for family members of ICU discharged patients, and to test the reliability and validity of the scale.Methods(1)Through literature review and semi-structured interviews with family members of discharged patients, the original item pool and the structure of the scale were formulated.Fifteen experts were selected for expert consultation, and the items and structure of the scale were further revised to form the first draft of the scale.(2)From September 2021 to December 2021,205 family members of ICU discharged patients from a Tertiary-A General Hospital in Lanzhou City were selected by convenience sampling method.Correlation coefficient method,Cronbach’αcoefficient method, critical ratio method, exploratory factor Analyzed were used to analyze the items. From December 2021 to February 2022,214 family members of ICU discharged patients from 3 Tertiary-A General Hospital in Lanzhou City were selected by convenience sampling method, and the reliability, validity and feasibility of the scale were tested.Results(1)The item pool included:information needs, care guidance and support needs, emotional and life needs, social support needs,a total of 4 aspects and 43 items.Through two rounds of expert consultation, the first draft of the scale was formed with39 items in 4 aspects.(2)After the items selection, the scale contained 30 items,3 aspects. The Cronbach’αcoefficient of the total scale was 0.957,and the Cronbach’αcoefficient of each dimension was between 0.894 and 0.935.The half coefficient of the total scale was 0.827,and the half coefficient of each dimension was between 0.878 and 0.917.The Scale-Level Content Validity Index was 1.Confirmatory factor analysis showed that the estimated factor loadings of the entries ranged from 0.555 to 0.826,Chi-square degree of freedom ratio(?)was 2.287,root-mean-square error of approximation(RMSEA)was 0.078.comparative fit index(CFI),Tucker-Lewis index(TLI),and incremental fit index(IFI)were 0.889,0.878,and 0.890,respectively.The average variance extracted(AVE)values ranged from 0.527 to 0.5654,the composite reliability(CR)values ranged from 0.8978 to 0.9344.The correlation coefficients between the factors ranged from 0.543 to 0.693(P<0.01),The correlation coefficient between factor and the total score of the scale ranged from 0.822 to 0.898((P<0.01).The recovery rate of the scale was 91.2%,the effective completion rate was 85.6%,and the average completion time of the scale was 10 minutes and 37 seconds.ConclusionThe needs assessment scale for family members of ICU discharged patients has good reliability, validity and feasibility. To provide a scientific and feasible quantitative evaluation tool to accurately understand the specific needs and needs levels of family members of ICU discharged patients.
