Objective: To explore the effect of using COOK balloon and Dinoprostone Suppositories in pregnant women with preeclampsia to promote cervical ripening, the effect of induce labor, and the impact of mother and child safety. Methods: Selected 175 primiparous pregnant women who were hospitalized in our hospital from January 2018 to December 2020 and were diagnosed with preeclampsia. They were divided into two groups according to different methods of induction of labor:the Balloon group used COOK balloon to induce labor, the Propess group used Dinoprostone Suppositories to induce labor. The two groups were recorded for comparison of cervical ripening, labor induction, maternal and infant complications. Results: There was no statistically significant difference in general data between the Balloon group and the Propess group(P>0.05).There were no statistically significant difference in the improvement of cervical Bishop score, the rate of cesarean section, the rate of emergency delivery, the indications of cesarean section, the complications of induction and delivery(blood pressure fluctuation, abnormal fetal heart rate, fetal distress, placental abruption, postpartum hemorrhage, postpartum infection),the newborn asphyxia,Apgar score and NICU admission rate of newborns(P>0.05).The success rate of cervical ripening, improvement of cervical texture and 24 h delivery rate in the Balloon group were higher than that of the Propess group;but the first stage of labor and total labor time were shorter than those of the Propess group, the difference was statistically significant(P<0.05).The frequency of contractions in the Propess group was higher than that in the balloon group, the difference was statistically significant(P<0.05).Conclusions: COOK balloon and Dinoprostone Suppositories used in pregnant women with preeclampsia can effectively promote cervical ripening, increase the rate of vaginal delivery,do not increase the probability of mother or infant adverse events during labor induction and delivery. Both have advantages and disadvantages, the appropriate method should be selected according to the individual situation of pregnant women in clinical application.
