Research Purpose:To investigate the current psychological status of anxiety and depression in family members of ICU patients with mechanical ventilation,to formulate the nursing intervention program based on FSM model and to explore the effects of these nursing intervention on the adverse psychological status of the family members of ICU patients with mechanical ventilation.Research Methods:In this study,a quasi-experimental study was adopted, and the subjects of the study were family members of mechanically ventilated patients in an adult comprehensive ICU in a tertiary hospital of Zhejiang Province.A coin toss cluster method was used to assign one ward in the ICU as the control group and the other as the intervention group, and the intervention period was from March 2021 to December 2021.The control group only received routine medical services, while the intervention group received nursing interventions based on the FSM model in addition to routine medical services.Baseline data were collected within 48 hours of ICU admission and outcome data were collected within 24 hours before and after ICU transfer.SPSS 25.0 statistical software was applied to analyze the data, what’s more, some statistical methods, including descriptive statistical analysis,chi-square test and t test were further adopted.Research Results:1.The disease-related data and general data of family members of 80 ICU mechanically ventilated patients in this study were included and analyzed. There was no statistical significance between the two groups(P>0.05),indicating that the family members of the two groups were comparable.2.The anxiety prevalence of family members of ICU mechanically ventilated patients was57.5%,40.00% were in mild anxiety state,15.00% were in moderate anxiety state, and 2.5% were in severe anxiety state. The average anxiety score was(52.05±8.712),which was higher than that of the general population(P<0.001).3.The prevalence of depression in the family members of ICU mechanically ventilated patients was 66.25%,of which mild depression accounted for 47.50%,moderate depression accounted for 16.25%,and severe depression accounted for 2.5%.The average depression score was(56.25±8.355),which was higher than that of the general population(P<0.001).4.Before the intervention, there was no significant difference in anxiety of family members of ICU mechanical ventilation patients between the two groups(P>0.05).However,after the intervention, the anxiety score of the family members in the control group was(41.50±5.738),and that in the intervention group was(36.50±4.385).There existed a statistically significant difference in anxiety between the two groups(P<0.001).5.Before the intervention, there was no significant difference in depression of family members of ICU mechanical ventilation patients between the two groups(P>0.05).However,after the intervention, the depression score of the family members in the control group was(45.28±8.089),and that in the intervention group was(42.13±5.725).There existed a statistically significant difference in depression between the two groups(P<0.05).Research Conclusion:1.In this study, the status of anxiety, depression and post-traumatic stress disorder in the family members of 80 ICU patients with mechanical ventilation were all at moderate levels.2.The nursing intervention scheme based on the FSM model can effectively relieve the anxiety and depression levels of the family members of ICU mechanically ventilated patients.3.The research verified that the nursing intervention plan based on the FSM model is highly feasible, scientific, effective and innovative through literature review, expert guidance, preliminary research proposal,pre-trial,formal implementation of intervention research.Nursing intervention based on the FSM model is worthy of clinical application and promotion.
