Objective: to evaluate the clinical value of portal vein embolization(PVE)and Portal vein embolization combined with ultrasound-guided percutanous microwave frequency(PMA)ablation liver partion in promoting the proliferation of Future liver volume(FLR).Methods: from October 2014 to May 2019,20 patients with portal vein embolism(PVE group)and 19 patients with liver parenchyma separation by percutaneous microwave ablation(PMA + PVE group)were analyzed retrospectively.The future liver volume of the two groups were compared and examined by t test.Results: The future liver volume of PVE Group and PMA + PVE group were339.5 ml ~ 499.9 ml(mean 405.9 ml ± 56.8 ml)and 239.4 ml ~ 493.0 ml(mean 369.8ml ± 76.3 ml),respectively.There was no significant difference between the two groups(p > 0.05).The volume of FLR proliferation was 69.6 ml ~ 337.2 ml(mean153.7 ml ± 134.8 ml)and 44.5 ml ~ 340.2 ml(mean 146.0 ml ± 92.4 ml),respectively.There was no significant difference between the two groups(p > 0.05).FLR proliferation rate: 3.5% ~ 81.0%(mean 37.1 %± 0.3)and 11.0% ~ 114.0%(mean41.7% ± 0.3),there was no significant difference between them(p > 0.05).The time of FLR proliferation ranged from 11.0 d to 75.0 d(mean 35.6 d ± 22.5 d)and from7.0 d to 22.0 d(mean 11.8 d ± 4.8 d),there was significant difference between the two groups(p < 0.05).There was a significant difference between 0.3 ml/d ~ 11.4ml/d(mean 4.8 ml/d ± 4.1 ml/d)and 4.1 ml/d ~ 28.2 ml/d(mean 13.3 ml/d ± 8.3ml/d)(p < 0.05).In PVE group,14 patients(70.0%)completed the second stage hepatectomy.while 15 patients(78.9%)completed the second stage hepatectomy in PVE+PMA,there was no statistical difference between the two groups(p > 0.05).Conclusion: PMA + PVE can promote the growth of future liver voulme more quickly than PVE alone.
