Objective:To study the clinical value of percutaneous vertebroplasty(PVP)and percutaneous kyphoplasty(PKP)in osteoporotic vertebral compression fracture(OVCF).Methods:120 OVCF patients treated from January 2016 to January 2018 in our hospital were selected and assigned to two groups according to random number table,60 cases in each group. The intervention group was treated with PKP;the control group was treated with PVP.The clinical effect was compared. Results:Compared with control group, the operation time, total injection volume of bone cement, affected vertebra height degree, affected vertebra height loss degree and hospitalization costs in the intervention group were remarkably increased(P<0.05);the ambulant time and hospitalization time in the intervention group was shorter than that of control group(P<0.05);before treatment,VAS(visual analogue scale)scores between groups were not significantly different(P>0.05);after 1w,1m and 1y of treatment,VAS scores for two groups were sharply reduced, but related scores in the intervention group were even lower than those of control group(P<0.05);before treatment, vertebral compression rate and Cobb angle of affected vertebra between groups were not significantly different(P>0.05);after treatment, related index for two groups were sharply reduced, but related index in the intervention group were even better than those of control group(P<0.05);before treatment,Oswestry disability index(ODI)between groups was not significantly different(P>0.05);after 1w,1m and 1y of treatment,ODI for two groups was sharply reduced, but ODI in the intervention group was even better than that of control group(P < 0.05);before treatment,JOA(Japanese Orthopaedic Association)scores between groups were not significantly different(P>0.05);after 1w,1m and 1y of treatment,JOA scores for two groups was sharply increased, but related scores in the intervention group were even higher than those of control group(P<0.05);the total effective rate in the intervention group(90.00%)and control group(81.67%)was not significantly different(P > 0.05);the complication rate and recurrence rate in the intervention group(5.00% vs.6.67%)was significantly lower than that of control group(16.67% vs.20.00%)(P<0.05);before treatment, the scores of physiological function, bodily pain, health status, social function, role emotional, mental health, role physical and vitality between groups were not significantly different(P>0.05);after treatment, quality of life scores for two groups were sharply increased, but related scores in the intervention group were even higher than those of control group(P<0.05).Conclusion:Both of PVP and PKP have the higher application value in OVCF patients.PVP can shorten the operation time and medical expenses;meanwhile,PKP can reduce the postope rative complication rate and recurrence rate, promote the fast lumbar vertebral function recovery, relieve the pain, and improve the quality of life and patient’s prognosis.
