Objective1.Construct an emotional and stress management plan suitable for caregivers of children with epilepsy based on the model of empowerment theory2.To verify the influence of emotional and stress management programs on the anxiety, depression and care burden of caregivers of children with epilepsy.Methods1.Construction of emotional and stress management programs based on empowerment theory:Literature research:We understanded and analyzed the design and current situation of relevant empowering theories and emotional and stress management intervention programs,by searching domestic and foreign databases. It provides reference for constructing an emotional stress management plan for caregivers of children with epilepsy based on the empowerment theory.Group discussion:After discussion, the subject team clarified the purpose, content of intervention, intervention time, intervention location, intervention personnel, evaluation indicators, etc.of the emotional and stress management plan for the caregivers of children with epilepsy, and formed the emotional and stress management plan for the caregivers of children with epilepsy First draftTwo rounds of expert consultation:The project team invited 8 experts from the fields of psychology, neurology, medical psychology, clinical nursing, and nursing management to review the project plan. The emotional and stress management plan for caregivers of children with epilepsy was revised according to expert revision suggestions.Pre-test:15 carers of children with epilepsy are selected to debug the intervention plan, and the plan will be revised and improved through the feedback and suggestions of the caregivers and the problems arising during the intervention.2.Application of Emotion and Stress Management Program Based on Empowerment TheoryThe caregivers of 160 children with epilepsy admitted to the Department of Neurology of Anhui Children’s Hospital from September 2019 to December 2019 were selected as the research objects, and the ward was used for random grouping using coin-operated methods. The coin is the front of the coin. The 1st ward of Neurology is set as the intervention group, and the one who enters the 2nd ward of Neurology with the back of the coin is set as the control group. There were 80 cases in the intervention group and the control group. The control group was given routine nursing care, and the intervention group implemented an emotion and stress management program based on the empowerment theory on the basis of routine nursing. The anxiety self-rating scale, depression self-rating scale, and Zarit care burden scale were used to evaluate the intervention effects of emotional and stress management programs on the anxiety, depression and care burden of caregivers of children with epilepsy before the intervention and 3 months after the intervention.Results1.Construction of the intervention plan(1)Literature research:Taking the framework of the empowerment intervention program for patients with colorectal cancer enterostomy as the design idea, the specific content of the literature is analyzed and the intervention content, intervention theme, intervention form, intervention personnel, and evaluation indicators of this intervention program are initially determined.,and evaluation time.(2)Two rounds of expert consultation:10 questionnaires were issued in the first round,8 were returned, and the effective recovery rate was 80%.8 questionnaires were distributed in the second round,8 were returned, and the effective response rate was 100%.(3)Emotion and stress management plan:The emotion and stress management plan based on the empowerment theory is finally determined by literature review, group discussion, two rounds of expert consultation and pre-test.9 intervention themes:emotional acceptance, cognitive pressure, stimulating intrinsic motivation, relaxation, and consolidation training;the frequency of intervention is once a week 6 weeks before the intervention, and once every two weeks starting from the 6th week. The intervention period is 12 A total of 9 interventions were conducted every week, and the duration of each intervention was 50-60 minutes.2.Application of intervention planDuring the intervention and follow-up,due to the deletion of wechat, changes in contact numbers, poor compliance and other reasons,10 caregivers were lost to follow-up,with a lost to follow-up rate of 6.3%.4 cases were lost to follow-up in the intervention group, with a loss rate of 5%;6 cases in the control group were lost to follow-up,with a loss rate of 7.5%.A total of 150 caregivers of children with epilepsy completed the study.(1)Before the intervention, there was no significant difference between the intervention group and the control group in terms of age, gender, and education level. There was no significant difference in the baseline data of the anxiety and depression status and care burden scores of the two groups of caregivers before the intervention(P>0.05).(2)After 3 months of intervention, the SAS score of the Self-Rating Anxiety Scale for Children in the Intervention Group was(20.81±2.88),which was significantly lower than the control group(30.77±3.05),P<0.001.(3)After 3 months of intervention, the SDS score of the Self-Rating Depression Scale for Carers of Children in the Intervention Group was(19.85±2.32)points,which was significantly lower than the control group(28.75±2.58)points,P<0.001.(4)After 3 months of intervention, the Zarit Care Burden Scale score of the caregivers of children in the intervention group was(26.75±6.45)points,which was significantly lower than the control group(30.74±6.36)points,P<0.05.Conclusion1.The emotional and stress management program based on empowerment theory can effectively reduce the anxiety and depression of caregivers of children with epilepsy.2.The emotional and stress management program based on empowerment theory can effectively improve the care burden of caregivers of children with epilepsy.3.The emotional and stress management program based on empowerment theory can stimulate the intrinsic motivation of caregivers for self-emotion management, which is feasible and worthy of promotion among caregivers of children with epilepsy.
