Objective:To analyze the intervention effect of traditional Chinese medicine on postoperative complications and recovery of patients with benign prostatic hyperplasia(BPH)after transurethral resection of prostate(TURP).Methods:Total of 224 case from January 2018 to February 2021 in the First Affiliated Hospital of Guangzhou University of traditional Chinese medicine were retrospectively analyzed. The patients were divided into TCM group(n = 148)and non TCM group(n = 76)according to whether TCM was used or not.The basic situation of the two groups, preoperative evaluation of disease,VSA score at 24 h,48h and 72 h after operation, the times of bladder spasm, the time of bladder flushing fluid clearing, the time of postoperative exhaust, and the use of traditional Chinese medicine after operation were observed. The results were statistically analyzed to study the use of drugs and clinical efficacy in our hospital.Results:1.There was no significant difference in age,IPSS score before operation, preoperative ultrasound prostate weight evaluation, operation time, long field of vision(resection range)between the two groups(P >0.05).2.There was significant difference in the incidence of bladder spasm between the two groups(P < 0.05),3.The incidence of TCM group(6.1%)and non TCM group(35.5%).The VSA scores of patients with bladder spasm in the traditional Chinese medicine group were and those in the non traditional Chinese medicine group were no significant difference in VSA between the two groups(P > 0.05).4.Comparing the clearance time of bladder irrigation fluid between the two groups, the clearance time of traditional Chinese medicine group was 3(3~5)days,and that of non traditional Chinese medicine group was 5(4 ~ 6)days,with statistical significance(P < 0.05).5.Comparing the postoperative exhaust time of the two groups, the exhaust time of the traditional Chinese medicine group was 1(1~2)days,and that of the non traditional Chinese medicine group was 1(1~2)days.The results showed that there was no significant difference in the recovery of intestinal function between the two groups(P > 0.05).6.Drug use rules: Atractylodes macrocephala(74.3%),Poria Cocos(73%),fried licorice(43%),Rhizoma Imperata(36.5%)7.No serious adverse reactions were found in the two groups. Conclusion : Traditional Chinese medicine treatment can effectively prevent the occurrence of bladder spasm after transurethral resection of benign prostatic hyperplasia and shorten the time of bladder irrigation.Taking traditional Chinese medicine can effectively reduce the incidence of postoperative complications and accelerate the recovery of patients. It is worthy to be popularized, but the specific prescriptions need to be further explored.
