Objective: Cross-cultural adaptation of the PANQOL scale and to test its reliability and validity,so as to provide a basis for the measurement of quality of life of Chinese patients with acoustic neuroma. Methods:According to the Brislin translation model, the PANQOL source scale was sinicized by using the two-way translation method, and the expert committee was organized to integrate all the translated versions and components of the scale to conduct cross-cultural adjustment.Finally,30 cases of research subjects were selected for pre-investigation to determine the Chinese version of the PANQOL scale.A total of 169 questionnaires were sent out from November 2019 to December2020,and 166 valid questionnaires were received with an effective recovery rate of98.2%.Two weeks later,20 subjects were followed up randomly, and the measured results were collected for structural validity test,Cronbach’s α coefficient, retest reliability, and split half reliability test.Results:1.Cross-cultural adaptation of the PANQOL scale: in the translation and translation stage,23 items were preliminarily determined. After discussion by the expert committee, item 10 and item 12 were translated as "facial muscles can’t move normally" and "facial problems affect my speech" respectively. After consulting the opinions of the subjects in the pre-experiment and discussing item 8 by the expert committee,it was finally translated as "It is difficult to walk in one’s own room without turning on the light",and the PANQOL scale was finally formed.2.Reliability and validity test: The total scale scores of 166 acoustic neuroma patients in this study ranged from 27 to 103,with an average of 60.92 ± 18.47 points. The T-values of 26 items in item analysis reached significant(P < 0.05).Seven factors were extracted by principal component analysis and variance maximal orthogonal rotation, and the cumulative variance contribution rate was 72.119%,showing good structural validity.Cronbach’s α coefficient is 0.908,and the Cronbach’s αcoefficient of other dimension subscales is 0.679~0.833.The retest reliability was0.997,and the retest reliability of each dimension was between 0.940 and 1.The correlation coefficient within the group showed that the analysis of variance F=7.512,P > 0.05,ICC=0.996,P < 0.05,which showed good consistency between the two.The Spearman-Brown coefficient of half reliability was 0.740.Conclusion:In this study,a Chinese version of the PANQOL scale was formed through scientific and systematic translation. The results show that the Chinese version of the PANQOL scale has good reliability and validity in the application of the Chinese version in the population of patients with acoustic neuroma, and is suitable for the quality of life assessment of patients with acoustic neuroma in China.
