Objective: To study the epidemiological and clinical characteristics of renal cancer patients and to provide clinical epidemiological basis for diagnostic and therapeutic modality. Methods: A retrospective analysis was performed in the Fourth Affiliated Hospital of China Medical University from September 2015 to January 2019,which contained the clinical data of renal cell carcinoma patients.Result: 107 patients with renal cell carcinoma(RCC)were recruited in the study. The age distribution was 25-81 years,41.1% were < 60 years and 58.9% were ≥ 60 years, with a mean age of 59.68±11.31 years. The ratio of male to female was 1.89:1.The ratio of urban and rural population was 4.94:1.Clinical stage I was observed in 85 patients(79.4%)and stage II-IV in 22 patients(20.6%).Pathological types: clear cell carcinoma accounted for 94 cases(87.8%)and the other 13 cases(12.2%).Open surgery was performed in 64 patients(59.8%)and laparoscopic surgery in 43 patients(40.2%).Radical nephrectomy was performed in 88 patients(82.2%)and nephron-sparing surgery in 19 patients(17.8%).75 cases(70.1%)were incidental renal cell carcinoma(IRCC).Symptomatic renal cell carcinoma(SRCC)were associated with address(urban or rural),diabetes and T stage(P =0.009,P = 0.031,P = 0.005).SRCC were less than IRCC in urban group(24.7 % vs.75.3 %),while similar in rural group(55.5% vs.45.5%).Compared with the IRCC group,in the SRCC group diabetes and T1 a stage patients were lower(6.3% vs.28.6%,37.5% vs.66.7%),and the tumor diameter was larger(P = 0.004).The tumor diameter was larger in patients with first symptom of osphyalgia(P = 0.04).Conclusion: Most of the renal cell carcinoma were male, urban,IRCC and stage I patients. The occurrence of symptoms is related to address(urban or rural),diabetes,T stage and tumor diameter. The first symptom of osphyalgia was associated with tumor diameter.
