| Objective: Lung cancer is one of the most important malignant tumors affecting human health,which the incidence and mortality are on the rise worldwide.In the past decade,survival rates of lung cancer patients have not improved significantly.Lung cancer is composed of distinct subtypes,including non-small cell lung cancer and small cell lung cancer.NSCLC is the main subtype,which accounts for more than 80% of lung cancer patients.Tropomodulin 3(TMOD3)is a unique tropomodulin,which can not only act as pointed-end capping actin filaments,but also bind actin monomers,which is involved in the regulation of the actin filament structure in diverse cell types.TMOD3 promotes epithelial cell morphogenesis,regulates cell migration and exocytosis.It has been reported that TMOD3 plays an important role in the proliferation,invasion and metastasis of some malignant tumors.However,the clinic relevance of TMOD3 expression in NSCLC remains unclear.In this article,we detected the expression of Tropomodulin 3 in non-small cell lung cancer(NSCLC)and explored the relationships between its expression and clinicopathologic characteristics.Methods: We collected 71 specimens of pathologically diagnosed NSCLC patients from January 2019 to November 2020,these patients are treated with surgery at the First Affiliated Hospital of China Medical University.The expressions of TMOD3 protein in the tissue of 71 cases of NSCLC were detected by immunohistochemistry.We analyzed the relationships between TMOD3 expression and clinicopathological factors.Results: TMOD3 expression was detected in the cytoplasm of non-small cell lung cancer tissue,with 73.24% positive rate.TMOD3 expression had no statistical differences with age,gender,histologic class,tumor size and Ki-67 proliferation index.The higher expressions of TMOD3 had positive correlation with low differentiated degree,high TNM stage and lymph node metastasis.Meanwhile,high expression of TMOD3 predicts unfavorable prognosis of lung adenocarcinoma.Conclusion: 1.TMOD3 is detected in cytoplasm of non-small cell lung cancer cell,and it has positive correlation with poor differentiation,high TNM stage and lymph node metastasis.2.TMOD3 could be used as a tumor maker,promotes cell proliferation,invasion and metastasis of NSCLC.It may be used as an important indicator of malignant biological behavior and intervention target. |
