| Objective: To observe the changes of intraocular pressure(IOP),diopter and Insulin-like growth factor 1(IGF-1)in short stature children who received recombinant human growth hormone(rhGH)therapy in Chaoshan area.Methods: An observational cohort study was used in this study.The research subjects were 57 children,who diagnosed with Dwarfism in the children growth outpatient department in the First Affiliated Hospital of Shantou University Medical College from March 2017 to February 2020.All cases received rhGH therapy。 And choose 24 confirmed as dwarfism but don’t accept children with recombinant human growth hormone treatment as control group following by investigating the height,weight,IGF-1,intraocular pressure,refraction and fundus regularly,recorded at 0,6,12,and 24 months after treatment respectively.The data collected was stored in Excel spreadsheet for statistical analysis using SPSS22.Results: Among the 57 short stature children,the minimum age of initial treatment was 3years old and the maximum age was 15 years old,and the mean initial age was(9.29±4.63)years old.There were 25 males(43.86%)and 32 females(56.14%).The proportion of short stature children diagnosed as growth hormone deficiency(GHD),idiopathic dwarfism(ISS)and small gestational age(SGA)were 52.63%,35.08% and 12.28%,respectively.The positive rate of GHD group was higher than that groups of ISS and SGA,the difference was statistically significant(P<0.05).Profile of the control group and treatment group,treatment group and control group of baseline information,have no statistical difference.Height,growth velocity(GV),body weight and IGF-1 were significantly higher after rhGH therapy than before therapy(P<0.05).After rhGH therapy,these children were observed significantly higher IOP than before.The value peaked at 6 months of follow-up and then gradually declined but was always slightly higher than before treatment.There were significant differences of IOP in the subjects between 6months,12 months and 24 months after rhGH therapy(P<0.05).The diopter of short stature children decreased from the 6 month after treatment,and the eyeball showed trend of myopia.Conclusion:1.rhGH therapy can effectively promote the growth of and increase the growth velocity.2.rhGH therapy can effectively improve the IGF-1 level in short stature children.3.rhGH therapy can increase IOP in a limited range of influence in short stature children 。4.RhGH treatment dioptre to short stature children become low,and the normal children diopter change are basically identical. |
