Objective:This study investigated the effectiveness of Acceptance and Commitment Therapy(ACT)for obsessive-compulsive disorder compared to Exposure Response Prevention(ERP),in order to increase the choice of psychotherapy intervention methods for obsessive-compulsive disorder.Methods:22 research subjects diagnosed with OCD participated in a randomized clinical trial of control group or experimental group. The control group received sertraline hydrochloride treatment and 8 sessions of ERP intervention, and the experimental group received sertraline hydrochloride treatment and 8 sessions of ACT intervention. The following assessments were completed at pretreatment, treatment, posttreatment, and 2-week follow-up: self-compiled general demographic data questionnaire,YaleBrown obsessive-compulsive scale(Y-BOCS),Acceptance and Action Questionnaire(AAQ),The Hamilton Anxiety Scale(HAMA)and Hamilton Depression Rating Scale(HAMD).MATRICS Consensus Cognitive Battery(MCCB)were completed at pretreatment and posttreatment.SPSS25.0 software was used to analyze the data, and P<0.05 indicated a statistically significant difference.Results:(1)The two groups have significant time effects(P<0.05)on AAQ-II,Y-BOCS,HAMA,and HAMD,and the interaction between group effects and time effects is not significant(P>0.05).(2)There was no difference between the two groups in the various cognitive fields of MCCB(P>0.05).After the intervention, there was a significant improvement in the speed of processing,attention/vigilance,verbal learning, visual learning, reasoning and problem solving, and social cognition(P>0.05).Conclusion:(1)ACT+drug is comparably effective as ERP+drug at treating OCD,at improving the psychological flexibility of patients diagnosed with OCD,at treating anxiety and depression of patients diagnosed with OCD,at improving the cognitive function of patients diagnosed with OCD.(2)The treatment of OCD may reduce the negative effects of OCD on cognitive function.(3)The dropout rate of the ACT+drug group was lower than that of the CBT+drug group, although it was not significant.
