In today’s world,with the gradual improvement of people’s living standards,rich material life has changed people’s eating habits and structure,and more and more dental lesions have occurred,posing a serious threat to human health.Dental caries has become the world’s third largest non-communicable disease besides malignant tumors and vascular diseases.Therefore,issues related to the prevention,early detection and treatment of dental caries have attracted more and more attention.The most important cause of dental caries is dental plaque.The mineralized caries of teeth are mainly caused by the destruction of the balance of demineralization inside the teeth by acidic substances produced by the metabolism of dental plaque.The normal area of the tooth and the carious area have different compositions due to changes in the material composition,and the auto-fluorescence of the two will be different.This paper takes advantage of this feature,collects and obtains fluorescence images by exciting the auto-fluorescence of teeth,and uses image stitching algorithm to stitch the collected three channels images to obtain complete and consistent color images,then performs image segmentation on the fluorescence images after image stitching to achieve the detection of dental caries.The main contributions of this paper are summarized as follows:The first chapter briefly introduces the research background of this article and describes the significance of the system designed in this article in combination with the research background.Then clarify the research content of this article and organization structure of this article.The second chapter analyzes related theories and technologies,including tooth structure and the causes of caries,as well as the fluorescence effect of biological tissues as the theoretical basis,and the image stitching and image segmentation algorithms used in the system designed in this paper.The third chapter compares the results obtained between different algorithms via experiments,including image stitching algorithm based on SIFT and the algorithm based on SURF,also including threshold-based image segmentation algorithm and region-based image segmentation algorithm.Then select the algorithm with better processing effect as the algorithm basis of this article.The fourth chapter introduces the design of the system in detail,including the data transmission module,the image stitching module,the caries detection module,the database module and user interaction module of the host computer system.The fifth chapter introduces the actual implementation and the test of the above modules of the system.
