OBJECTIVE: To observe the clinical curative effect of acupuncture through the meridian in patients with acute peripheral facial paralysis.Methods: 68 patients with acute peripheral facial paralysis were randomly divided into control group and observation group,34 cases in each group.All patients started treatment after signing the informed consent.The Ordinary acupuncture was used in the control group,and The acupuncture through the meridian was used in the observation group.A total of 3 courses of treatment(6 days/course)follow the meridian penetration acupuncture method.The House-Brackmann Facial Nerve Function Grading Scale and Facial Disability Index(FDI)scale were used to evaluate the efficacy and observe the difference in efficacy between the two groups.Results: During the treatment,4 cases were lost in each of the two groups.Finally,The number of control group and observation group were32 cases.(1)Before treatment,Comparison of gender、age、course of disease、syndrome type between the two groups(p>0.05),(2)The H-B facial nerve function classification in the two groups after treatment were higher than that before treatment(p<0.05);the H-B facial nerve function classification in the observation group after treatment was higher than that in the control group after treatment(p<0.05);(3)The FDI body score after treatment in two groups were higher than that before treatment(p<0.05);The observation group after treatment is higher than the control group after treatment(p<0.05);(4)The social FDI in the two groups after treatment were higher than that before treatment(p<0.05);It is worth mentioning that the social FDI of observation group and treatment group is similar after treatment(p>0.05);(5)the therapeutic effect of the observation group after treatment was higher Routine acupuncture group(p<0.05).Conclusion: Both the conventional acupuncture and the penetrating acupuncture along the meridian can effectively treat the acute phase of peripheral facial paralysis,but the penetrating acupuncture along the meridian is more effective than the conventional acupuncture.
