| Aims:This meta-analysis aims to assess the diagnostic value of serum intestinal fatty acid-binding protein(I-FABP)for acute mesenteric ischemia(AMI)in the early stage. Methods:Data were extracted from PubMed,Web of Science,EMBASE,and Cochrane library databases. The risk of bias and applicability of the included literature was assessed. Moreover, the random-effects models were used to calculate the summary estimates. We calculated sensitivity, specificity, positive likelihood ratio(PLR),negative likelihood ratio(NLR),and diagnostic odds ratio(DOR).The diagnostic value of serum I-FABP for AMI was assessed with a summary receiver operating characteristic curve(SROC)and the area under the curve(AUC).Results:Seven studies(572 patients)were included. The combined sensitivity, specificity,PLR,NLR,and DOR were 0.71(95% CI: 0.62-0.78),0.90(95% CI: 0.86-0.92),5.58(95% CI: 2.84-10.96),0.32(95% CI: 0.16-0.67)and 16.71(95% CI: 6.3-44.29),respectively.The AUC was 0.894(0.030).Conclusion:The results suggested that serum I-FABP is a useful indicator for AMI diagnosis in the early stage. |
