Objective:This study aims to investigate the influence of Er,Cr:YSGG lasers with different powers and irradiation times on the physicochemical property and biocompatibility of SLA titanium surfaces, and to evaluate its effect on removing P.gingivalis biofilm on SLA titanium surface.Material and methods:1.60 SLA titanium specimens were randomly divided into five groups. One group is not treated as the control group, and the other four groups are treated with 0.75 W or1.5 W Er,Cr:YSGG laser single or twice as the experimental group. Then the surface morphology and surface hydrophilicity of the five groups were characterized and analyzed. And SD rat BMSCS was inoculated on the specimen surface for culture, and evaluate the biocompatibility of each group by comparing the morphology and proliferation of BMSCs.2.Prepare P.gingivalis biofilm on the surface of 60 SLA titanium specimens and randomly divide them into five groups. One group is the control group without treatment, and the remaining four groups were treated with 0.75 W or 1.5 W Er,Cr:YSGG laser single or twice as the experimental group. Then, the surface biofilm of each group was observed with SEM,and the number of bacteria on the surface of each group was detected by live/dead bacterial staining,MTT method and CV staining method.Results:1.0.75 W or 1.5 W Er,Cr:YSGG laser single or twice treatments will not damage the microstructure of the SLA titanium surface, and can also increase the hydrophilicity of the specimen, without affecting its biocompatibility.2.Single treatment of 0.75 W Er,Cr:YSGG laser cannot effectively remove the biofilm of P.gingivalis on the specimen surface. In the results of live/dead bacterial staining,MTT method and CV staining method, the effect of 0.75 W Er,Cr:YSGG laser twice treatment,1.5 W Er,Cr:YSGG laser single treatment,1.5 W Er,Cr:YSGG laser twice treatment are roughly same;however, the SEM shows that the outcome of the double treatments of 1.5 W Er,Cr: YSGG laser is better than the first two. Conclusions:The use of Er,Cr:YSGG laser with appropriate power and irradiation times will not negatively affect the morphology, hydrophilicity and biocompatibility of the SLA titanium surface, and can safely and effectively remove the biofilm on specimen surface.Based on the results of the above experiments,1.5 W Er,Cr:YSGG laser twice irradiation has the best effect on removing P.gingivalis biofilm on SLA titanium surface.Further research can be carried out on the treatment of periimplantitis with 1.5 W Er,Cr:YSGG laser twice irradiation.
