Research On Maternal And Child Health Care In Datong From 1949 To 1959

The development of maternal and child health care is one of the important indicators that can measure social progress.From 1949 to 1959,the living conditions and social status of women have also changed in Datong with the development of great changes of the social situation of China.Through the research about the maternal and child health care work of Datong from 1949 to 1959,it is convenient for us to understand the specific situation of the maternal and child health care work in Datong during the decade.Before 1949,the cause of maternal and child health care nationwide was slow,the development of maternal and child health care in Datong was relatively poor in Datong because of the slowness of the cause of maternal and child health care about the whole country.After 1949,in order to protect the health of women and children,enhance the social status of women,and mobilize women to participate in socialist construction,our country promulgated a series of laws and regulations to protect the health of women and children,and we also found the four levels of health administration which covered provinces,cities,counties,and villages from the central government to the local government in order that we can protect the health of women and children,enhance the social status of women,and mobilize a lot of women to devote themselves to socialist construction.According to the previous practical experience of the Chinese Communist Party about maternal and child health care,Datong also responded to the call of the public policy and actively carried out the work of maternal and child health care.From 1949 to 1959,Datong also has taken some measures to complete the construction of the maternal and child health care system,such as the publicity and promotion of the delivery of scientific method and the ideological reform of old midwives,the training of midwives,these measures has promoted the advancement of childcare.Datong has made the progress of nurseries which is in urban and rural areas by founding nurseries and developing good nursery governess.And the formulation and implementation of women’s protection policies have ensured women’s health and improved the economic status of women.From 1949 to 1959,the maternal and child health care was led by the government and combined with production and labor in Datong.Although there were still some limitations,it has made great success,which left precious experience for the development of Maternal and Child Health Care of Datong today.
