| Objective:To study the effect of horticulture therapy on the physical and mental health of disabled elderly in nursing homes, and to provide some references for the maintainance and promotion of physical and mental health of disabled elderly in nursing homes, and to provide empirical evidence for the intervention of horticulture therapy for elderly people in different situations. Methods:This is an experimental study.Convenience sampling was used to select 64 cases of disabled elderly people who had been living in a nursing home in Shangrao city before August 2018 as the research object, and 32 cases were randomly divided into the control group and the intervention group by using the random number table method. The control group had regular activities in the nursing home, and the intervention group added gardening activities on the basis of regular activities in the nursing home once a week for 1 hour each time for 8 weeks. Before and after the intervention, the same type of mercury blood pressure monitor, the Activities of Daily Living(ADL),the University of California at Los angeles-loneliness Scale(UCLA),and the Geriatric Depression Scale(GDS),understanding social support scale(PSSS)respectively to assess disability old man’s blood pressure, loneliness, depression, and realize social support, and compare the effect of before and after the intervention, intervention after 1 week,at the same time to return of intervention group, use of its own, make satisfaction questionnaire to assess the gardening therapy activities,in order to understand on activity of satisfaction after team members to participate in group activities.Results:1.Comparison of blood pressure levels between the two groups before and after intervention. Before intervention, the mean systolic blood pressure and diastolic blood pressure of the two groups showed no statistically significant difference(p=0.086,p=0.474,p>0.05).After the intervention, after repeated measures analysis of variance, two groups of disability elderly systolic blood pressure the comparison of different time points, time effect and group effect were statistically significant(P<0.05),a group of disability, the elderly systolic blood pressure between time effect and group effect exist interaction(P<0.05),the results showed that the difference was statistically significant between intervention group and control group, the comparison of different time points difference was statistically significant, the intervention group and control group in systolic blood pressure is on the decline;Comparing the diastolic blood pressure at different time points between the two groups, the time effect and the group effect were statistically significant(P<0.05),and there was an interaction between the time effect and group effect of the diastolic blood pressure of the disabled elderly(P<0.05).The results showed that the differences between the intervention group and the control group were statistically significant, and the differences at different time points were statistically significant, and the diastolic blood pressure of the intervention group and the control group showed a downward trend.2.Comparison of the loneliness(UCLA-LS)between the two groups before and after the intervention, there was no statistically significant difference in the loneliness scores between the two groups(p=0.146,p>0.05);After intervention, the loneliness scores of the two groups were compared, and the difference was statistically significant(P=0.042,P<0.05).There was no statistically significant difference in loneliness scores between the control group and the control group(p=0.183,p>0.05).The loneliness scores of the intervention group were compared before and after the intervention, and the difference was statistically significant(P=0.013,P<0.05).3.Comparison of depression(GDS)between the two groups before and after intervention. Before intervention, there was no statistically significant difference in depression assessment scores between the two groups(p=0.230,p>0.05).After intervention, the scores of depression assessment of the two groups were compared, and the difference was statistically significant(P=0.000,P<0.05).There was no statistically significant difference in the scores of depression assessment before and after the control group(p=0.114,p>0.05).The depression scores of the intervention group were compared before and after intervention, and the difference was statistically significant(P =0.000,P<0.05).4.Comparison of cognitive social support level(PSSS)between the two groups before and after intervention. Before intervention, there was no statistically significant difference in the scores of assessment of cognitive social support ability between the two groups(p=0.263,p>0.05).After intervention, there was a statistically significant difference(P=0.025,P<0.05)between the two groups in the evaluation score of understanding social support level. There was no statistically significant difference in ability to comprehend social support before and after the control group(p=0.943,p>0.05).Comparison of ability score of comprehension social support level in the intervention group before and after intervention showed statistically significant difference(P=0.002,P<0.05).5.Satisfaction assessment of gardening activities after 8 sessions of gardening therapy, the results showed that more than 80% of the group considered the activity“very good”or“very well”;The experimental group members had a high degree of satisfaction with the horticultural activity design;Among them, the fifth activity“flower arrangement new world” has the highest satisfaction, which is 100%;The fourth “Chinese rose pruning” had the lowest satisfaction(81.2%);75% of the group suggested that future activities include growing food plants and increasing outdoor activities;40% of the group said they wanted to invite family members to the event. Conclusion:gardening therapy can help to control blood pressure of the disabled elderly in nursing homes, effectively reduce the loneliness of the elderly, reduce the depression of the elderly, improve their understanding of social support level, and promote the physical and mental health of the elderly. |
