Objective: To investigate the clinical significance of the sacrococcy geal region pit in the early diagnosis of tethered cord syndrome and to summarize the clinical experience of the timing of surgery in pati ents with tethered cord syndrome. Methods: Retrospectively analyzed the clinical data of children with sacrococcygeal region pit from the Department of Neurosurgery,Shangh ai Children’s Medical Center from 2015.01.01 to 2019.01.07.The perce ntage of abnormalities in outpatients by MRI was statistically analyz ed.The best surgical timing was compared according to whether other clinical symptoms and different age groups were used to compare the p rognosis of the children. Results: Totally 241 children with sacrococcygeal region pit in the s tudy,100(41.49%)eventually required surgical intervention.Childre n with simple pit of sacrococcygeal region had no abnormal symptoms a fter operation, but the effective rate of postoperative group was ab out 77.42%.Among the children of different age groups, the prognosis within 1 year old was significantly better than 1-3 years old,and t he prognosis of 3 years old was the worst in 3 groups. Conclusion: The sacrococcygeal region pit should be brought to the at tention of clinicians.MRI is the first choice for examination.Child ren with the sacrococcygeal region pit of TCS should have surgery bef ore the onset of clinical symptoms. The younger the age,the better t he prognosis.
