Clinical Observation On Modified Xiaochaihu Decoction In Treating Qi-Stagnation Type Constitution Migraine Without Aura

Objective:To explore the clinical effect of Jiawei Xiaochaihu Decoction in treating Qi-stagnation physique migraine without aura.Methods:A total of 86 patients with qi-stagnation physique without aura migraine who met the inclusion,exclusion criteria and signed the informed consent form.Patients who treated in the encephalopathy department of Gansu Provincial Hospital of Traditional Chinese Medicine from January 2020 to December 2020 were randomly divided into two groups.There were 43 cases in the traditional Chinese medicine group,and 43 cases in the western medicine group.The Chinese medicine group taking Jiawei Xiaochaihu Decoction,and the western medicine group taking flunarizine hydrochloride capsules.The course of treatment for all patients was 4weeks.The number of headaches,the severity of headaches,the duration of headaches,the scores of traditional Chinese medicine syndromes,headache effects-6(HIT-6),qi before treatment,2 weeks,4 weeks,and 4 weeks of drug withdrawal were measured in the traditional Chinese medicine group and the western medicine group,respectively.Stagnation score,SAS,SDS,etc.were evaluated by various observation indicators.Results:1.There was no statistical difference in the distribution of age and gender between the two groups of patients(P>0.05).2.After treatment and during the follow-up period,the number of headache attacks,the severity of headache attacks,the duration of headaches,TCM syndrome scores,HIT-6,qi-stagnation transformation scores,SDS,and SAS were all improved compared with those before treatment(P< 0.01).3.The treatment group was better than the western medicine group in improving the number of headache attacks,the degree of headache attacks,the duration of headache,the scores of TCM syndromes,HIT-6,the transformation score of qi stagnation,SDS,SAS(P<0.05).4.Comparing the overall effective rate of the two groups before and after treatment,the effective rate of the western medicine group was 73.2%,while the effective rate of the traditional Chinese medicine group was85.7%.The difference between the two groups was statistically significant(P<0.05).Conclusion:Jiawei Xiaochaihu Decoction has a significant clinical effect in treating migraine with qi-stagnation constitution without aura,and has a significant improvement effect on patients’ physique.It can also improve anxiety and depression in patients with qi-stagnation constitution without aura migraine.
