Objective: To evaluate the efficacy and safety of five-step cervical exercise for conservative treatment of cervical radiculopathy(CSR)by clinical observation. Methods: 90 patients with CSR who met the inclusion criteria for this study were selected and divided into a control group and experimental group according to a random number table method, with 45 cases in each group. The control group was given routine nursing measures, and the experimental group was given routine nursing measures combined with cervical five-step exercises.Observed two groups of patients admitted to hospital, hospital discharge, discharge after 1 month,2 months after hospital discharge,3 months after discharge of the cervical spine dysfunction index(NDI)score, visual analog pain score(VAS score),Tian Zhongjing long cervical spondylitis symptom rating scale, and compare of motion of the cervical spine when discharged from hospital and clinical curative effect evaluation, using SPSS23.0 software for statistical analysis.Results:1.Among the 90 patients included,1 case of surgical shedding and 2 cases of lost follow-up were found in the experimental group; In the control group, there were 1 cases of surgical shedding and 3 cases of lost follow-up,a total of 83 cases were completed. Before treatment, there were no significant differences in gender, age, length of stay, physical therapy program, occupation,NDI score,VAS score, range of motion of cervical vertebra and Yasushi Tanaka Cervical Spondylosis Symbosis Scale score between the two groups(P > 0.05)with comparability.2.Comparison of NDI score: NDI score of both groups after treatment was lower than before treatment, the difference was statistically significant(P < 0.01).There was no significant difference in NDI scores between the two groups at admission(P > 0.05),has the comparability; There were significant differences in NDI rating between the two groups at discharge,1 month,2 months and 3 months after discharge(P < 0.05).3.Comparison of VAS score: After treatment,VAS scores in both groups were lower than before treatment, and the difference was statistically significant(P < 0.01).There was no significant difference in VAS scores between the two groups at admission(P > 0.05),has the comparability; There were statistically significant differences in VAS scores between the two groups at discharge,1 month,2 months and 3 months after discharge(P < 0.05).4.Comparison of range of motion of cervical joint: the range of motion of anteversion, extension, left tilt, right tilt, left rotation and right rotation in the two groups after treatment was improved, and the difference was statistically significant(P < 0.05).There was no significant difference in the azimuth range of motion between the two groups at admission(P > 0.05),but there was significant difference between the two groups at discharge(P <0.05).5.Comparison of scores of Yasuhisa Tanaka Cervical Spondylosis Symptom Scale:intra-group comparison showed that scores of Yasuhisa Tanaka Cervical Spondylosis Symptom Scale after treatment were higher than before treatment in both groups, and the difference was statistically significant(P < 0.01).There was no significant difference in the scores of Yasushi Tanaka Cervical Spondylosis Sysymptom Scale between the two groups at admission(P > 0.05),has the comparability; There were statistically significant differences between the two groups at discharge,1 month,2 months and 3 months after discharge(P <0.05).6.Efficient comparison: the total effective rate of the experimental group was 83.3%,and the total effective rate of the control group was 70.7%.The experimental group was better than the control group, and the difference was statistically significant(P < 0.01).Conclusion:Cervical five-step exercise can relieve neck pain and clinical symptoms in patients with CSR,improve the function and range of motion of cervical vertebra, and assist in the improvement of clinical efficacy in patients with CSR.No serious adverse reactions were noted in this study.Five-step cervical spine exercise is safe and can be popularized and applied. |
