Investigation On Current Status Of TCM Health Care Literacy In Municipal Departments Of Nanjing

Objectives: "Healthy China 2030" emphasizes the development strategy of national health.The strategic plan proposes to give full play to the unique advantages of traditional Chinese medicine(TCM)and develop health care services for disease prevention.By2030,the leading role of TCM in the treatment of disease prevention,the synergistic role in the treatment of major diseases and the core role in disease rehabilitation will be fully played.With the continuous promotion of the reform of government institutions and administrative system in China,civil servants are facing the pressure of public responsibility and high social concern.The health problems of this group are not only personal problems,but also directly affect the level of administrative efficiency.Before that,most of the researches on civil servants focused on physiological and psychological aspects,less on the health care of TCM.In this study,Nanjing municipal government staff were investigated to understand the current situation of the people’s health-care literacy of TCM,and to study the differences of health-care literacy of different characteristics of government staff,so as to find out the relevant factors of health-care literacy of TCM and further put forward reasonable prevention and suggestions.Methods:The TCM health care quality of Nanjing municipal authority organ staff group was used to investigate the cognition and practice of TCM keeping in good health.The survey questionnaire with 28 points have four dimensions of 28 items,each item is 1 point,each dimension is 7 points.Refer to the national survey of the judgment standard,the people is considered with ability if the dimension accuracy is greater than70%.450 individuals was investigated in the municipal authority by convenience sampling.Epi Data was used to data entry,SPSS was used to statistical analysis.Quantitative data was described with mean,standard deviation,median,interquartile range,t test and analysis of variance(ANOVA)were used to compared the difference between/within groups;Proportions was used to describe qualitative data,chi-square was used to nomial data and rank test used to ordinal data.Multiple linear regression and Logistic regression were used to multivatiate analysis.Results:According to the results of the questionnaire,the total score was 19.26±2.46.The scores about basic concepts of TCM,healthy lifestyle,common care content and easy care method were 4.34±1.11,4.8±0.95,5.55±1.18,4.50±1.02.The overall accuracy of the questionnaire is 68.79%.The accuracy of basic concepts of TCM,healthy lifestyle,common care content and easy care method were 61.94%,69.70%,79.30% and64.22%.The number of people with TCM health preservation literacy was 206,accounting for 49.76%.The number of people with basic concepts of TCM,healthy lifestyle,common care content and easy care method were 188(45.41%),268(64.73%),343(82.85%),200(48.31%).The univatiate analysis results show that,the level(TCM health care quality)of civil servants was higher than the workers.For education degree,the people with higher degree tended to have higher TCM health care level.The peoples with 30-39 years had highest score,and score were loweset for 20-29 year olds people.The people with 7-9 years service have highest svores.People with an annual family income of 300,000-390,000 yuan scored the highest,and 100,000-190,000 scored the lowest.The married people was higher about health literacy than that of unmarried people,but there was no statistical significance between two groups.Gender had no statistical significance in the impact of health literacy of TCM between male and female.Further multiple linear regression showed that education level,age,family annual income and working age were factors of TCM health care literacy.Logistic regression showed that education level,age,family annual income and occupational were factors of TCM health care literacy.Conclusions:Compared with the national survey of health literacy of TCM,the staff of Nanjing municipal organs have a high level of health literacy of TCM.There are differences in different dimensions of TCM health care literacy.The awareness rate of health care content is higher than that of life behavior,life behavior is higher than that of simple health care method,and simple method is higher than theoretical knowledge.Professional identity,education level,age,years-of-service and annual family income are the factors of TCM health literacy.The TCM health literacy of administrative staff is significantly higher than that of workers.Generally speaking,the higher education level,the higher the level of health literacy;the higher the annual family income,the higher the level of TCM health literacy.
