The Study Of Acute Telogen Effluvium On Constitution Of Traditional Chinese Medicine

ObjectiveIn order to analysis the clinical characteristics of patients with acute resting alopecia(acute telogen effluvium,ATE)and female pattern hair loss(female pattern hair loss,FPHL),a questionnaire survey was conducted among patients with ATE and FPHL in the outpatient of Guangdong Hospital of traditional Chinese Medicine,and then explore the distribution characteristics of TCM constitution of ATE and its relationship with related clinical characteristics.MethodsThrough the collection of TCM constitution and clinical data of patients with telogen effluvium and female pattern hair loss in the outpatient department of Guang Dong hospital of TCM,we want to understand the distribution of TCM constitution and clinical characteristics.Results1.The age range of patients with acute telogen effluvium was wider(19-58 years),with an average age of 31.7.The age of female pattern hair loss was younger,,with an average age of 27.1.In the ATE group,the number of people with good sleep only count for 1/5,FPHL was even less;those who slept less than 7 hours accounted for 58.6%and 73.5%.35.7%of the patients in the ATE group used mobile computers for more than 5 hours a day on average,while those in the FPHL group were as high as 91.8%.About 3/4 of the patients in the ATE group had emotional problems,only less than 1/4 had good emotional,while only 10.2%of FPHL.The proportion of people with great stress in life and work was 48.60%and 28.60%respectively.2.In the ATE,the hair quality was mostly fine soft and dry bifurcated,some patients have 2 or 3 kinds of hair problems.In the rest period of abnormal sensation of the scalp,tension was the most common in ATE.In the other group,63.3%of the patients had no obvious sensation of the scalp,but some patients felt itching on the scalp and washed their hair every day with a frequency more frequent than that of the ATE.3.ATE can recall the strike more clearly.The most common causes are fever,weight loss,postpartum,emotional stress,and medication.47.9%of FPHL recall feeling emotional stress before hair loss.The median number of hair loss in the ATE group is 120,which ranges from 30 to 800.The number of hair loss was surprising and puts patients under great stress.More than 80%of patients in both groups occasionally or often feel embarrassed or socially affected by hair loss.4.The TCM syndrome types of the two groups were mainly liver and kidney yin deficiency and spleen deficiency,while the others were less.The TCM constitution of patients with ATE is yang deficiency(18.6%),qi depression(18.6%)and phlegm dampness(17.1%).The TCM constitution of mental workers is mainly qi depression and yang deficiency.In patients with poor sleep quality,there are more qi deficiency,phlegm-dampness,yin deficiency and yang deficiency.The TCM constitution of patients with abnormal menstrual cycle are mainly qi depression and yang deficiency.Abnormal menstruation and dysmenorrhea are mainly concentrated in qi depression.The TCM constitution of those who are emotionally angry is mainly qi depression,while those who think more are yang deficiency and qi deficiency.The TCM constitution of the patients with high life pressure is mainly qi depression and phlegm dampness.ConclusionThe TCM constitution of patients with ATE is yang deficiency(18.6%),qi depression(18.6%)and phlegm-dampness(17.1%),the main TCM syndrome types are yin deficiency of liver and kidney,spleen deficiency and deficiency of spleen and kidney yang.
