Objective: In this study,Magnetic Resonance Imaging(MRI)was used to measure the thickness of the lower facial soft tissue and the profile angle of Han people of different ages and genders in Liaoning, and explore the aging changes and facial profile changes of the lower facial soft tissue, and discuss the differences of the facial profile in the lower facial soft tissue between different genders and the relationship between the various aesthetic elements of the lower facial part,a preliminary database of the thickness and profile morphology of the lower facial part of the Han population in Liaoning Province was established to provide a reference for the treatment of lower part rejuvenation. Methods: According to the screening criteria, patients who underwent craniofacial MRI scans in the First Affiliated Hospital of Dalian Medical University in the past ten years were selected.Among them,122 were males and 126 were females. They were grouped according to ages. There were 41 males and 43 females in the range of 18-28 years old.;There are 41 men and 43 women in the 45-55 year-old range;40 men and 40 women in the 65-year-old range.Refer to the soft and hard tissue landmarks defined by scholars at home and abroad,we select the landmarks on the lower mid-sagittal plane that have a strong correlation with the facial profile, find the MRI mid-sagittal plane tomographic section, and use the imaging diagnosis system to read the image.Use the measuring ruler to measure the soft tissue thickness of 7 measuring points including the subnasale, midpoint, upper labrale, lower labrale, supramentale, pogonion of soft tissue, menton of soft tissue.Five angles including facial angle, nasolabial angle, chin lobe of upper lip, chin lobe of lower lip,and menthol sulcus angle, which reflect the profile shape of the lower facial part, the datas were analyzed by SPSS software. Results: The research data in this article shows that there are gender differences in the thickness and profile of the lower soft tissue. In the measurement of the thickness of the lower soft tissue,in the youth group,middle-aged group, and old group men at the subnasale, human midpoint, upper labrale, lower labrale, supramentale, pogonion of soft tissue, and menton of soft tissue. The soft tissues were thicker than women in the same age group, and there were statistically significant differences between age groups. In the measurement of the lower profile angle, the upper lip chin lobe and lower lip chin lobe in the young male group are larger than the young women’s group; The face angle, nasolabial angle, upper lip chin lobe, lower lip chin lobe, and menthol sulcus angle in the middleaged male group were larger than those in the middle-aged female group; The facial angle and lower lip chin lobe of the elderly male group were larger than those of the elderly female group, and the differences between the age groups were statistically significant. There were aging changes in the thickness of the soft tissues of the lower nasolabial region.Among the male and female people, the soft tissues of the nasolabial point, midpoint, upper labrale, lower labrale points gradually become thinner in the youth group,middle-aged group, and elderly group. The differences between the groups were statistically significant. There were aging changes in the soft tissue thickness of the chin part.Among the male and female people, the soft tissues of the young group,middle-aged group, and old group were thickened first and then thinner at the measurement points of supramentale, pogonion of soft tissue, menton of soft tissue. From young to middle-aged,the soft tissues of the chin in males and females were thickened, all of which were statistically significant; From middle age to old age,the supramentale point of men and women became thinner, which was statistically significant. There were aging changes in the profile of the lower soft tissue.Among the male and female subjects, the upper and lower lip chin lobes gradually decreased in the youth group,middle-aged group, and elderly group; From middle-age to old age,the menthol sulcus angle decreased in men and women, and the differences between the groups were statistically significant; From young to middle-aged,female facial angles and nasolabial angles decrease, which was statistically significant; From middle age to old age, men’s nasolabial angle decreased, which was statistically significant. The study of the correlation between the profile angles of the lower part shows,In the youth group,middle-aged group, and old group, the facial angle of men and women were positively correlated with the upper lip chin lobe and the lower lip chin lobe;upper lip chin lobe were positively correlated with the lower lip chin lobe, which was statistically significant.Male facial angle was positively correlated with nasolabial angle in middle age, female facial angle was positively correlated with nasolabial angle in youth, middle age,and old age, which was statistical significance. In the young female group, the facial angle was positively correlated with the nasolabial angle, upper lip chin lobe, and lower lip chin lobe angle, and negatively correlated with the menthol sulcus angle;Menthol sulcus angle was negatively correlated with facial angle, upper lip chin lobe, and lower lip chinl lobe angle, and positively correlated with nasolabial angle, which was statistically significant. Conclusions: In the Han population in Liaoning, the thickness and profile of the lower soft tissue were affected by aging and there are gender differences. The lower soft tissues of men in the three age groups were thicker than women, and the aging patterns of nasolabial soft tissues and chin soft tissues were different, but they were consistent between different genders. Most of the males in the three age groups have a larger profile angle than females, and the differences in male and female profiles were mainly manifested in the middle age. There were correlations between the three elements of the nasolabial chin that compose the lower part.
