Objective:To explore the relationship between the Gastroesophageal Reflux Disease Questionnaire(GerdQ)score and Barrett’s esophagus(BE).Methods:A questionnaire survey was conducted on patients with upper gastrointestinal symptoms in the Gastroenterology Department, and endoscopy+biopsy was used as the gold standard for diagnosis of BE.To compare the difference of GerdQ score between BE group and non-BE group. And to explore the correlation between BE and GerdQ score. Results:A total of 545 patients were enrolled in this study, with an average age of(56.27±11.62)years.After gastroscopy+biopsy,60 patients were diagnosed with BE,including 38 males and 22 females. After gastroscopy+biopsy, there were 485 non-BE patients, including 236 males and 249 females.Compared between the two groups, men account for a higher proportion of men in the BE group(χ2=4.599,P=0.032),indicating that men are at greater risk of developing BE;the body mass index(BMI)of patients in the BE group is significantly higher than that in the non-BE group(T=-2.310,P=0.021),suggesting that patients with higher BMI are at greater risk of developing BE;the proportion of smokers in the BE group was significantly higher than that in the non-BE group(χ2=4.802,P=0.02),suggesting smokers The risk of BE occurrence is greater. There was a significant difference in GerdQ score between BE group and non-BE group.(P<0.001).The median of GerdQ score in BE group was significantly larger than that in non-BE group, indicating that patients with larger GerdQ score are at greater risk of BE.There were significant differences in the level of GerdQ score among the three different pathological types of BE(P=0.027).Then,the pathological classification group was compared in pairs. There was a significant difference in GerdQ score between cardiac type and intestinal type.(P=0.021).Conclusion:The median GerdQ score of BE patients was significantly higher than that of non-BE patients, but the AUC value was 0.669,indicating that GerdQ is of general value in screening BE.There were significant differences in the level of GerdQ score among the three different pathological types in the BE group. The GerdQ score of intestinal type patients in BE group was significantly higher than that of cardiac type patients.Men,higher BMI and smokers have a higher risk of developing BE.
