Objective Axillary osmidrosis is a kind of disease caused by unsaturated fatty acids with special odor produced by the interaction between sweat secreted by axillary sweat glands and bacteria.Radical resection of apocrine glands is considered to be the best solution for bromhidrosis. However;surgical resection has a high incidence of complications. In this study,we analyzed the clinical cases of patients with axillary osmidrosis treated by minimally invasive small incision sweat gland resection,Nd:YAG laser cauterization and botulinum toxin A injection to determine the best treatment. Methods A total of 60 patients with bilateral bromhidrosis admitted from June 1,2018 to June 1,2020 were selected,Among them,20 cases were treated with minimally invasive apocrine gland excision with small incision,20 cases with Nd:YAG laser,20 cases with botulinum toxin A injection. The data of patients(gender, age, axillary osmidrosis degree)were collected.Patients were followed up 1,3 and 6 months after treatment for clinical response rate, patient satisfaction, recurrence, complications and other data, and statistical analysis was conducted. Results After 6 months of continuous follow-up,the clinical effective rates(%)of the three groups were 91.75± 13.81,85.75± 16.90 and 46.50±21.04,respectively.The patient satisfaction scores of the three groups were 3.85,3.05 and 2.80,respectively.The recurrence rates of malodour in the three groups were 0%,2.5%and 7.5%,respectively.The incidence of postoperative complications in the three groups was 10.0%,5.0%and 2.5%,respectively.Minimally invasive microincision resection of apocrine glands has the highest clinical efficiency, but the complication rate is also the highest.Botulinum toxin A injection had the lowest incidence of complications, but the highest recurrence rate of malodour. Conclusions All of the three treatments are effective in the treatment of bromhidrosis.Minimally invasive apocrine gland excision with small incision can eliminate odor more thoroughly and maintain the longest curative effect. In consideration of postoperative complications, postoperative appearance and short recovery period,Botulinum Toxin A injection is the best choice for patients with mild bromhidrosis. The effect of Nd:YAG laser is between the two.
