| The impact of negative life events on individual growth is predictable.Negative life events,as an individual’s encounter, have a significant negative impact on the individual’s physical and mental health, which may become factors in the individual’s abnormal health. Therefore, this research focuses on the relationship between negative life events, early adversity and mental health, and attempts to explore the relationship between them.Previous studies have shown that gender and age have important links with many mental health problems. At the same time, individuals of different genders and ages have different perceptions of negative life events and early adversity.Secondly,a number of studies on individual mental health problems show that improving psychological resilience and psychological capital can effectively reduce the appearance of mental health problems. Therefore, this study takes psychological resilience and psychological capital as a connection between negative life events, early adversity and mental health. In addition, psychopathy has been shown to be closely related to negative life events, early adversity, psychological resilience, psychological capital and mental health, and can buffer the impact of negative life events and early adversity on mental health. It should affect the strength of the relationship between negative life events and early adversity, mental resilience and psychological capital and mental health. In summary, this study aims to verify the role of psychological resilience, psychological capital, and psychopathy in the relationship between negative life events, early adversity and mental health through three sub-studies.Study 1: Explore the mechanism of negative life events affecting Depression, and explore the mediating role of psychological resilience between the two and the moderating role of psychopathy.Taking 1128 middle school students as the research objects, the Adolescent Self-rating Life Events Checklist(ASLEC),the adolescent Resilience scale(RS),the Short Dark Triad(SD3),and the Self-rating Depression Scale(SDS)were used to carry out the survey. The results showed that(1)The scores of men’s negative life events were significantly lower than those of women, and the scores of men ’ s psychological resilience, psychopathy and depression were significantly higher than women’s.The overall score of negative life events increased with age, while the scores of psychological resilience and depression decreased with age.(2)Psychological resilience is significantly negatively correlated with negative life events and psychopathy, and there is a significant positive correlation between negative life events, psychopathy, and depression.(3)Negative life events can have an indirect effect on depression through the mediating effect of psychological resilience.(4)Psychopathy plays a moderating role between negative life events and psychological resilience, psychological resilience and depression.Study 2: Explore the mechanism of early adversity affecting mental health, and explore the mediating role of psychological capital between the two and the moderating role of psychopathy.Taking 1870 college students as the research object, using the Environmental Conditions Scale(ECS),the Compound Psy Cap Scale, the Levenson Self-Report Psychopathy Scale(LSRP),and DSM-5 Self-Rated Level 1Cross-Cutting Symptom Measure-Adult were used to carry out the survey. The results showed that(1)Men’s psychological capital scores are significantly lower than women’s,and men’s early adversity, psychopathy and mental health scores are significantly higher than women’s.The scores of early adversity, psychopathy and mental health status increase with age,and the scores of psychological capital decrease with age.(2)Psychological capital is significantly negatively correlated with early adversity, psychopathy, and mental health, and there is a positive correlation between early adversity, psychopathy, and mental health.(3)Early adversity can have an indirect impact on mental health through the mediating effect of psychological capital.(4)Psychopathy plays a moderating role between early adversity and psychological capital.Study 3: Verification of the intermediary model of Study 2 through longitudinal design.A follow-up study was conducted on 373 college students using the same tools as in Study 2.The results show that(1)early adversity of Time1 has a significant predictive effect on mental health of Time2.(2)The early adversity of Time1 can have an indirect impact on mental health of Time2 through the mediating effect of psychological capital of Time1.(3)The early adversity of Time1 can have an indirect impact on mental health of Time2 through the mediating effect of psychological capital of Time2.(4)The early adversity of Time1 can have an indirect impact on mental health of Time2 through the chain mediating effect of psychological capital of Time1-psychological capital of Time2.Analysis conclusion:(1)Among the student groups in my country, negative life events, early adversity and mental health are significantly positively correlated, and negative life events and early adversity are important factors that lead to mental health problems.(2)Among the student groups in my country, there are significant differences in gender and age in negative life events, early adversity, psychological capital, psychological resilience, psychopathy and mental health.(3)Psychological resilience plays a completely mediating role between negative life events and depression. That is to say, negative life events only affect the individual’s depression by affecting the individual’s psychological resilience.Psychopathy can buffer the negative impact of negative life events on psychological resilience and the negative impact of psychological resilience on depression. In other words,in the high psychopathic group, these two negative effects are weaker than those in the low psychopathic group.(4)Psychological capital plays a part of the mediating role between early adversity and mental health, that is,early adversity affects individual mental capital and then individual mental health.Primary psychopathy can buffer the negative impact of early adversity on psychological capital. In other words,in the high primary psychopathic group, this negative influence is weaker than that in the low primary psychopathic group. |
