With the continuous development and improvement of the economic level of socialism with Chinese characteristics, healthy development has gradually become one of the social topics that the Chinese people pay close attention to.Healthy development is an important component of the survival and development of the whole human economy and society,as well as the main content and goal of its economic and social development.Everyone’s healthy life is the common vision of the whole socialist mankind, and also an important part of the construction of the socialist human economic and social community by all countries in the world. In the past few decades, with the rapid development of China’s economy, the severity of income inequality in China has increased dramatically, and the impact on Residents’health has further attracted the attention of experts and scholars at home and abroad. The focus of domestic and foreign scholars on health research has rapidly changed to the relationship between income inequality and residents’ health in China.Their important empirical case studies and basic theories have attracted a large number of experts and scholars in the fields of economics, sociology, public health and residents’ public policy management. This paper will analyze and explore the relationship between income inequality and residents’ health in China.Based on the research results of domestic and foreign excellent scholars, this paper concludes that the current research on the relationship between income inequality and residents’ health is mainly focused on two competing hypotheses:Wilkinson hypothesis and absolute income hypothesis.Wilkinson hypothesis holds that the relationship between income inequality and individual health is mainly through psychological mechanism, while absolute income hypothesis holds that income distribution itself will not affect health. In this paper,Wilkinson hypothesis and absolute income hypothesis are used to analyze the main factors that influence residents’ health through income inequality. In addition, the data of China comprehensive social survey 2015(cgss2015)is used to build a model for the path of income inequality’s impact on Residents’ health by using structural equation model to test relevant theories And explain the influence degree of each path. The empirical results show that the results support Wilkinson’s hypothesis that income inequality does affect individual health through psychological mechanism. The impact of income inequality on the health status of Chinese residents is not only reflected in the impact of income inequality and job satisfaction on personal perception, but also in the impact of social security system and legal system satisfaction on Residents’ social perception. The expansion of income inequality has led to the rise of health inequality, while the improvement of relevant social security resources and the improvement of legal system will weaken the negative effect of the expansion of income inequality on health inequality. The results also show that the impact of income inequality on Residents’ health is mainly through psychological mechanism.According to the results of empirical analysis, the last part of this paper puts forward relevant policy recommendations.
