Purpose:The motive behind this study was to determine the clinicopathological significance and prognostic role of intratumoral immune infiltrates, that is,the tumor-infiltrating lymphocytes(TILs)and Tumor-associated macrophages(TAMs)the immune characteristics of ER+PR-HER2-AND ER+PR+HER2-breast cancer utilizing immunoscoreMethods:The immunohistochemistry of CD4,CD8,FOXP3,B7-2,CD 163,CD68,CXCR3,CCR6,and CD25 was performed on 82 human ER+PR-HER2-,ER+PR+HER2-,ER-PR+HER2-and ER-PR-HER2-(triple-negative)breast cancer tissues to investigate the tumor-infiltrating lymphocytes and Tumor-associated macrophages employing Immunoscore. The correlation between Immunoscore and clinicopathological characteristics was elucidated. Results:Of the 82 breast cancer tissue samples,14 were ER+PR-HER2-(61.1%had high immunoscore and 38,9%had low immunoscore);39 were ER+PR+HER2-(50.1%had high immunoscore and 49.9%had low immunoscore);2 were ER-PR+HER2-(50%had high immunoscore and 50%had low immunoscore)and 27 were ER-PR-HER2-(triple-negative)(64.4%had high immunoscore and 35.5%had low immunoscore).A high immunoscore was significantly correlated with poor tumor behaviors, including high vascular involvement, lymphatic invasion, lymph node metastasis, and distant metastasis. In addition,ER+PR-HER2-AND ER+PR+HER2-breast cancer tissues with high CD8-positive lymphocytes showed higher KI67 expressions of tumor and immune cells than ER+PR-HER2-AND ER+PR+HER2-subjects with a low number of CD8-positive lymphocytes. There was a significant link between high Immunoscore and poor disease-free survival. Conclusions:Taken together, our results showed that high tumor-infiltrating lymphocytes were significantly correlated with poor tumor behaviors and poor survival. |
