Purpose:A kind of novel mussel-biomimetic monomer dopamine-TMI with catechol group and C=C was synthetized by dopamine hydrochloride and TMI in this study,then evaluated the effects of this monomer on the shear bond strength of dual-cured resin cements to titanium.Material and methods:This study was divided into two parts.1.Dopamine-TMI was synthetized by dopamine hydrochloride and TMI in this study.The product was characterized by MS,FTIR and 1H-NMR.The new mussel-biomimetic monomer was added at 0,5%,10%,15%and 20%wt into Bis-GMA/TEGDMA to make resin trays,then the resin extract was prepared.CCK-8 test was carried out with human gingival fibroblasts to detect the cytotoxicity.2.TA2 titanium specimens(10mm×10mm×3mm)were surface treated by sandblasting with 100 mm alumina powder at a constant pressure of 0.3 MPa.They were divided into 8 groups(n=10)randomly and treated the surface of titanium as follow:Group control:only sandblasted;Group Z:Z-Prime Plus containing MDP was applied;Group S:Bis-Silane was applied;Group D:dopamine-TMI monomer was applied;Group D+Z:dopamine-TMI monomer+Z-Prime Plus were applied;Group D+S:dopamine-TMI monomer+Bis-silane were applied.Z+S group:Z-Prime Plus+Bis-silane were applied;Group D+Z+S:dopamine-TMI monomer+Z-Prime Plus+B is-silane were applied in sequence.One specimen in each group was selected for surface infrared analysis after surface treatment The bonding specimens were made with DUO-LINK dual-cured resin and the shear bond strength was measured.The results were statistically were analyzed by one-way ANOVA and Tukey test(α=0.05).Results:1.White solid(0.786g)was obtained with a yield of 92.69%.The molecular mass of the product was 354.45,MS showed m/z of the product was[M+H]+(355.4).The spectrum of FTIR showed the characteristic peaks of urea linkage at 3402,1639,1519 and 1367cm=1 and the broad peak of catechol group at 3300-3000cm=1.The 1H-NMR spectrum showed the signals in the range of 8.67 and 8.76 ppm was the hydrogen of catechol hydroxyl group,the hydrogen of aromatic ring on TMI and dopamine at 7.25-7.45 ppm and 6.41-6.66 ppm respectively,the hydrogen in-NH-CO-NH-at 5.76 and 6.35 ppm and the hydrogen of-C=CH2 at 5.08 and 5.37 ppm respectively,CCK-8 results showed that the cell activity of all groups was more than 80%.2.SBS values of Group D+Z(17.83±2.53MPa)was significantly higher than SBS of the other groups,except Group Z(14.61±2.43 MPa).Group D(12.53±2.38MPa)was significantly higher than Group control(P<0.05).Group control showed the minimal SBS(8.84±1.90 MPa)which was significantly different from the other groups(P<0.05)but Group S and Group D+S.The groups treated by combination of primers did not show better SBS.Conclusions:The experimental conditions were as follows:1.Dopamine-TMI was produced by rapid reaction between dopamine and TMI at room temperature with simple reaction conditions,rapid reaction and high yield.TMI showed no obvious cytotoxicity.2.Dopamine-TMI could significantly increase the bonding strength of resin to titanium,besides it might play a synergistic role when combined with MDP.
