Objective:Electronic information collection is the trend of clinical data collection, but investigating female sexual dysfunction with a WeChat-based questionnaire are less studied. The object of this study is to assess the consistency of the WeChat PISQ-12 questionnaire with the paper version and to ascertain the test-retest reliability of the WeChat questionnaire. Methods:A total of 120 women were recruited from November 2017 to June 2019 and randomly assigned to two groups averagely. All participants completed the WeChat and paper questionnaires twice.Participants in group A completed the paper before the WeChat version, while in group B completed the WeChat before the paper version. Two weeks later, all participants completed the questionnaires in the opposite order. Then, the consistency of the WeChat-based PISQ-12 questionnaire with the paper version was calculated, and the test-retest reliability of the WeChat version was determined. The WeChat version’s reliability and validity were assessed using Pearson correlation coefficient, intraclass correlation coefficients and Bland-Altman graph. Results:There was no significant difference in completion time between the two versions of the Chinese PISQ-12 questionnaire(p=0.67).Half of the participants(60/120)preferred the WeChat questionnaire, and 15%of women(18/120)preferred the paper form;this difference was statistically significant(p<0.01).Age was positively correlated with the time spent answering questions(p<0.01),and the degree of education was negatively correlated with the time spent answering questions(p<0.01).The WeChat questionnaire showed strong consistency with the paper questionnaire(Pearson correlation coefficient 0.92,p<0.05,ICC 0.94,95%CI 0.89-0.96),and the WeChat form showed extremely strong test-retest reliability(Pearson correlation coefficient 0.86,p<0.05,ICC 0.86,95%CI 0.76-0.92).The Bland-Altman graph shows strong consistency of WeChat-based PISQ-12 questionnaire with the paper version and strong test-retest reliability. Conclusions:The WeChat-based electronic version of PISQ-12 questionnaire in Chinese was preferred to the paper version and had excellent consistency with the paper version and high test-retest reliability. It is recommended that this version be more widely used in clinical data collection.
