Clinical Observation Of Wumei Decoction In The Treatment Of Insomnia Based On The Theory Of "Six Meridian Diseases To Appear"

Objective:Based on the theory of "six meridian diseases to appear",Wumei Decoction(Wumei Pill changed into decoction in Treatise on Febrile Diseases)was selected to treat the patients who were prone to wake up at 1-3 a.m,in order to observe and evaluate the efficacy and safety of Wumei Decoction in the treatment of insomnia,and explore the guiding significance of the theory of "six meridian diseases to appear" in Traditional Chinese Medicine diagnosis and treatment of insomnia.Methods:The patients who met the selection criteria were randomly divided into two groups.The experimental group was the patients who were treated with Wumei Decoction.At the same time,the control group was the patients who were treated with Dexzopiclone tablet.The treatment period was 2 weeks.On the day of admission and at the end of the second week,the Sleep Dysfunction Rating Scale(SDRS),Pittsburgh Sleep Quality Index(PSQI),Epworth Sleepiness Scale(ESS)and Traditional Chinese Medicine Syndrome Observation Table were used respectively The clinical efficacy of the two groups was evaluated and compared,and the re-currence of the patients was analyzed at the end of the 4th week.Results:1.In the clinical efficacy of insomnia,the effective rate of the experimental group was 86.15%,and that of the control group was 84.85%.There was no statistical difference(P>0.05).2.In the clinical efficacy of Traditional Chinese Medicine syndromes,the effective rate of the experimental group was 87.50%,and that of the control group was 40.91%,which was statistically significant(P<0.05).3.In terms of recurrence,the recurrence rate of the experimental group was 8.9%,and that of the control group was 39.29%,which was statistically significant(P<0.05).Conclus i on:1.For the patients who are prone to wake up at 1-3 a.m.Wumei Decoction and Dexzopiclone tablet almost have the same effect in improving insomnia.However,Wumei decoction is better than Dexzopiclone tablet in improving sleep time,sleep disorder,daytime dysfunction.Meanwhile,,Wumei decoction can effectively improve the accompanying symptoms,such as upset,cold hands and feet,thirst,hunger,and have good maintenance effect on insomnia.2.Based on the theory of "six meridian diseases to appear"to guide the syndrome differentiation and treatment of insomnia,it has certain clinical application value and is worth further exploration.
