| This thesis comprises of four chapters.Chapter one presents a review of the chemical constituents and pharmacological activities of Panax notoginseng saponins.The second chapter discusses the chemical constituents and cytotoxic activity of new compounds isolated from Panax notoginseng saponins.The third chapter presents the isolation and determination of chemical constituents of Merremia yunnanensis in the Convolvulus family.The last chapter summarizes and provides a viewpoint of the work performed for this thesis.PNS was extracted from the roots and rhizome of Panax notoginseng.The main effective components were notoginsenoside R1,ginsenoside Rg1,Rd,Re and Rb1.However,studies on the rare saponins in PNS remains insufficient.In order to investigate the systematic chemical constituents in PNS,three new compounds and23 known saponins were isolated from PNS,These three new compounds were named,as follows:notoginsenoside Ab1,notoginsenoside Ab2,and notoginsenoside Ab3.The known saponins were named as follows:notoginsenoside R2(4),20(S)-ginsenoside Rh1(5),20(S)-ginsenoside Rg2(6),ginsenoside Rg3(7),pseudoginsenoside RT3(8),gypenoside-XVII(9),vina-ginsenoside-R4(10),notoginsenoside R3(11),quinquenoside L14(12),20(R)-ginsenoside Rh1(13),ginsenoside F2(14),ginsenoside U(15),ginsenoside Rg6(16),ginsenoside Rk3(17),notoginsenoside T5(18),ginsenoside-Rh4(19),ginsenoside-Rh5(20),20(S)-ginsenoside-ST2(21),floralquinquenoside A(22),ginsenoside-Rh14(23),notopanaxoside A(24),notopanaxoside G(25),sanchirhinoside D(26).M.Yunnanensis is the genus Merremia in the Convolvulaceae family,which is distributed in Yunnan and Sichuan Provinces.This was firstly recorded in the<Dian Nan Ben Cao>written by Lan Mao.Twelve compounds were isolated from M.Yunnanensis using modern separation technology and methods.These included three new compounds:M.yunnanensis A(1),M.yunnanensis B(2),and M.yunnanensis C(3).These known compounds were respectively identified,as follows:1ɑ-hydroxy-6β-O-β-D-glucosyl-eudesm-3-ene(4),eugenyl O-β-D-glucopyranoside(5),tyrosol(6),hydroxypinoresinol(7),scopoletin(8),hydroxycoumarin(9),rutin(10),7-quercetin-7-O-glucoside(11),and 2-C-methylerythritol(12).Using modern natural product research methods and techniques,38 compounds were isolated from Panax notoginsenoside saponins and Merremia yunnanesis,including six new compounds.The identified compounds were damane-type triterpenoid saponins,sesquiterpene,lignan,flavonoids and phenolic acid.The anti-tumor activities(Hep G2,NCI-H460 and MCF-7)of the new compounds obtained from PNS were evaluated.The notoginsenoside Ab2showed inibit effect to three kinds of tumor cells. |
