Objective:Through the clinical observation of the acupuncture treatment of ankylosing spondylitis(AS)with liver and kidney deficiency by tonifying the kidney and adjusting the governor meridian, rating the quantitative scores of TCM syndromes before and after the treatment, and scoring the recommended efficacy index by Western medicine ASAS(assessment in ankylosing spondylitis),we could objectively judge the efficacy and safety of kidney-tonifying and governor meridian-adjusting method.Methods:64 patients with AS who met the criteria were randomized into 2 groups--the treatment group and the control group. Each group has 32 cases. The treatment group was treated with kidney-tonifying and governor meridian-adjusting method and sulfasalazine;the control group was treated with celecoxib capsules combined with sulfasalazine. After the treatment of 6 weeks,we rated the TCM syndrome quantitative scores before and after the treatment and the effective rate,ASAS recommended efficacy index score and the ASAS40 compliance rate, used SPSS23.0 statistical software to analysis the result.Results:1.TCM syndrome(compression of lumbosacral pain, back pain, morning stiffness, limited lumbar activity, weak waist, dizziness, tinnitus and night sweats):before the treatment, the scores of the two groups were not statistically significant(P>0.05).After the treatment,The scores of the two groups before and after treatment were statistically significant(P<0.05).There was significant difference between thetwo groups(P<0.05).2.Among the effective comparisons of TCM syndromes, the treatment group took effect on 17 patients, effective in 12 patients, and ineffective in 2 patients. The effective rate of the treatment group was 93.55%.The control group had effect on 9patients,effective in 13 patients, and ineffective in 8 patients. The effective rate of the control group was 73.55%;There was significant difference between the two groups(P<0.05).3.ASAS recommended efficacy index score:(spine pain VAS score, nocturnal pain VAS score, morning stiffness time and degree,BASDAI score,BASFI score):before treatment, the scores of the two groups were not statistically significant(P> 0.05).After the treatment, the scores of the two groups before and after treatment were statistically significant(P<0.05).There was significant difference between the two groups(P<0.05).4.In the comparison of the compliance rate of ASAS40,28 people of the treatment group met the standard, and 3 people failed;the compliance rate was90.32%.20 people of the control group were up to the standard, and 10 people were not;the compliance rate was 66.67%.There was significant difference between the two groups(P<0.05).5.Safety Evaluation: No adverse reactions were found in both groups befo re and after treatment.Conclusion:1.The acupuncture of Kidney-tonifying and governor meridian-adjusting method combined with sulfasalazine can significantly improve the TCM syndromes of patients with AS,The effective rate in the treatment group was higher than the control group.2.The acupuncture of Kidney-tonifying and governor meridian-adjusting method combined with sulfasalazine can significantly improve the ASAS recommended efficacy index of AS patients,ASAS40 compliance rate is higher than the control group in the treatment group.3.The acupuncture of Kidney-tonifying and governor meridian-adjusting method is very safe and is an effective method for treating AS,which can be further promoted and applied in clinical practice.
