Objective:With the rapid development of China’s economy, improvement of medical and healthcare level and changes of national population policies, the aging population structure has gradually taken shape in China, leading to China’s entry into an aging society. The acceleration of population aging has brought about a variety of chronic diseases, thus turning how to control and reduce the occurrence rate of chronic diseases, improve the health status of the aged, and cut medical expenses and social burdens an issue of great concern to both the Chinese government and society.Combining the new concept of physical sports and medical care integration, this paper makes use of research methods, including the literature analysis, questionnaire, expert interview, mathematical statistics and field survey,to investigate into demands of elders in Changsha communities for health-promoting services, deeply examine the existing problems, and discuss the impact mechanism of demands for the aforesaid health-promoting services.Methods:SPSS19.0 is used for statistical description and analysis of the data acquired.Following that,Cronbach’s Alpha coefficient is used to assess the scale reliability. The assessment adopts the description of “mean±standard deviation”,(x ±s).The independent sample T-test is employed for comparison of two groups of data, while the one-way analysis of variance is employed for comparison of three groups of data. The categorical variables are described using the percentage. The multi-factor Logistic regression is used to analyze factors affecting various ratings. When P<0.05,it means the difference is statistically significant.Results:1.Elders in Changsha communities participate in physical exercises mainly for the purpose of keeping fit.Around 90.25% of families support elders’ involvement in physical exercises, but around 56.25% of family members report that they will not accompany elders to participate in physical exercises. Most elders take physical exercises for three times or more every week, and each time their physical exercises last for more than 60 minutes. To elders in Changsha communities, open spaces in communities, squares and parks are major places for their physical exercises.Meanwhile, walking, running, health exercises, dance and exercises with equipment are major physical exercises taken by elders. In terms of physical examinations, around 48.75% of elders report their periodical taking of physical examinations.Regarding community medical services, only around 19% of communities frequently ask about elders’ participation in physical exercises;around 28.5% of community doctors frequently suggest elders’ taking of physical exercises;10.75% of community doctors provide specific plans for elders’ taking of physical exercises.2.Investigation results of elders’ health service demands in Changsha communities show that the local elders have a strong demand for health-promoting service personnel, institutions and content.Differences of genders, ages, marital statuses, educational degrees, main economic sources, monthly income and health levels result in differences of elders’ demands for health-promoting demands, and such differences are statistical significant(P<0.05).3.The impact factor binary Logit regression analysis results of health-promoting service demands show that:(1)age is a major factor affecting elders’ demands for health-promoting service personnel, institutions and content;(2)marital status is a major factor affecting elders’ demands for health-promoting service institutions and content;(3)educational degree is a major factor affecting elders’ demands for health-promotingservice institutions and content;(4)economic income can affect elders’ demands forhealth-promoting service personnel institutions and content;(5)monthly income is a major factor affecting elders’ demands for health-promoting service personnel, institutions and content;and(6)health level is a major factor affecting elders’ demands for health-promoting service personnel and institutions.Conclusion:1.Elders in Changsha communities have a strong demand for health-promoting services.Internal subjective factors affecting these elders’ demands for health-promoting services mainly include the age, marital status, educational degree, economic income, monthly income and health level;external objective factors include government systems, economy, community guarantee, publicity and education.2.To more effectively satisfy elders’ demands for health-promoting services, efforts should be made in the following aspects.First,in terms of government systems, the macroeconomic policy formulation should be improved, the implementation of specific policies should be strengthened, and the sports and medical care departments should work closely with each other to form a joint development pattern where the government plays the dominant role and social forces provide necessary supervision.Second,in terms of economy, the fund-raising channels should be expanded, and the fund management should be enhanced.Regarding community guarantee, the community infrastructures for physical exercises should be improved, more health-promoting service talents should be developed and introduced from the outside, the physical exercise and medical care technologies beneficial for elders’ health promotion can be developed, and communities can organize and promote “relaxing physical exercises” among elders. As to publicity and education, physical exercises and health knowledge as well as community cultural activities should be promoted to create a favorable atmosphere that encourages more elders to participate in physical exercises.
