Effect Of Electroacupuncture Two Wave On Patients With Motor Aphasia In Subacute Stage Of Cerebral Infarction

Objective:To study how the stimulation of electro-acupuncture(excitation wave)to the language area of cerebral infarction side and stimulation of electro-acupuncture(dampening wave)to the language area of non-cerebral infarction side may exert an impact on the restoration of language function of patients with cerebral infarction.Experimental methods:107 patients with subacute cerebral infarction motor aphasia hospitalized in our Department of Neurology and Rehabilitation from June 2019 to February 2020 were recruited.They were divided atrandom into 3 groups:electro-acupuncture group(36cases),language training group(36 cases)and electro-acupuncture &language training group(35 cases).When patients had stable vital signs,scalp electro-acupuncture was applied to the language side No.1 and the language side No.3 of bilateral hemispheres.Meanwhile,excitation wave(rarefaction-dense wave)was connected to the cerebral infarction side and dampening wave(continuous wave)to the non-cerebral infarction side.Over the period of 10 consecutive days of electro-acupuncture therapy and language training treatment,three groups of patients received conventional drug treatment and rehabilitation training as well.After treatment,patients received homocysteine(Hcy)and hypersensitivity C reactive protein(hs-CRP)blood tests and a transcranial color Doppler(TCD)check to examine the flow of arterial blood in brain,the results of which were then compared with that prior to the treatment.The variation of Vm,PI and RI were also compared with that before the treatment.At the same time,the scores of the three groups of patients were calculated based on Aphasia Battery of Chinese(ABC)and their respective improvement rates were generated.Results:1.Hcy of patients in electro-acupuncture group,language training group,and electro-acupuncture & language training group after 10 days of treatment were remarkably reduced compared to those before treatment(P﹤0.01).Compared with language training group,the scores of the electro-acupuncture group,and the electro-acupuncture & language training group significant difference(P﹤0.01)),but there was no significant difference between the electro-acupuncture group and the electro-acupuncture & language training group(P﹥0.05).2.Hs-CRP of patients in electro-acupuncture group,language training group,and electro-acupuncture & language training group after 10 days of treatment were remarkably reduced compared to those before treatment(P﹤0.01).Compared with language training group,the scores of the electro-acupuncture & language training group significant difference(P﹤0.01)),but there was no significant difference between the electro-acupuncture group and language training group,and the electro-acupuncture & language training group(P﹥0.05).3.After 10 days treatment,TCD check results of the electro-acupuncture group,the language training group,and the electro-acupuncture &language training group indicated that cerebral artery Vm increased while PI and RI reduced,and the difference was statistically significant(P﹤0.01).The difference between the electro-acupuncture group,the electro-acupuncture & language training group and the language training group was statistically significant(P﹤0.01)).PI and RI,the difference between the electro-acupuncture group and the electro-acupuncture & language training group was not significant(P﹥0.05).4.ABC scores of patients in electro-acupuncture group,language training group,and electro-acupuncture & language training group after10 days of treatment were significantly increased compared to those before treatment(P﹤0.01).Compared with language training group,the scores of the electro-acupuncture group,and the electro-acupuncture &language training group significant difference(P﹤0.01)),but there was no significant difference between the electro-acupuncture group and the electro-acupuncture & language training group(P﹥0.05).5.Although adverse reactions occurred in three groups of patients,the difference in the incidence of adverse reactions was not statistically significant.Conclusion:This study confrmed that the application of scalp electro-acupuncture two wave to the language side of bilateral hemispheres,excitation wave connection to the cerebral infarction side(rarefaction-dense wave)and dampening wave connection to the non-cerebral infarction side(continuous wave)1.Obviously reduce the patients’ serum Hcy and hs-CRP;2.Improve cerebral blood flow velocity on average Vm,lower PI and RI;3.Obviously promote the subacute cerebral infarction patients with motor aphasia spontaneous conversation,comprehension,repetition,named after the four languages function recovery,to repeat the ability to improve the most obvious among them.
