Comparison Of Balloon Nephrostomy And Common Nephrostomy In Postoperative PCNL

Background/purpose:In order to comparethe advantages and disadvantages of two kinds of nephrostomy tubes after percutaneous nephrolithotomy(PCNL),we designed a retrospective study to explore the effect of two kinds of nephrostomy on the postoperative complications of PCNL.Methods:We were collectedthe patients who met the inclusion criteria in Fujian Provincial Hospital and Fujian Provincial Jinshan Hospital from December 1,2018 to November 31,2019,and evaluatedthe advantages and disadvantages of two kinds of nephrostomy tubes by comparing the indexes of hemoglobin reduction,number of cases of infection,nephrostomy tube prolapse rate,days of extubation,pain score,days of hematuria with naked eyes,number of cases requiring selective renal artery embolization for hemostasis,and number of cases of blood transfusion after operation.Result:A total of 148 cases were collected,including 57 cases in balloon nephrostomy group and 91 cases in common nephrostomy group.There was no significant difference between the two groups in terms of age,gender,complications,preoperative hemoglobin value,operation time,stone size and so on.In the third day after operation,the decrease of hemoglobin in the group of balloon nephrostomy was lower than that in the group of common nephrostomy,and in the first day after operation,the pain score in the group of balloon nephrostomy was higher than that in the group of common nephrostomy.There was no significant difference between the two groups in the decrease of hemoglobin(within two hours),the decrease ofhemoglobin on the first day,the number of blood transfusion,the number of selective renal artery embolizationfor hemostasis,the number of extubation,the number of infection,nephrostomy tube prolapse rate,the pain score on the third and fifth day after operation.Conclusion:The hemostasis effect of balloon nephrostomy is better than that of common nephrostomy,and it does not increase the days of extubation and the incidence of infection.Meanwhile,it is fixed firmly and not easy to come out.But because the balloon nephrostomy tube needs a certain traction force to ensure the hemostasis effect,it will increase the pain of patients to a certain extent.
