Objective: to investigate the effect of functional fitness training combined with regular post-stroke comprehensive rehabilitation training on physical fitness, including aerobic endurance, muscle strength, balance and flexibility capacity, and activities of daily living for patients with both stroke and coronary heart disease. Methods: 21 cases of patients with both stroke and coronary heart diseases were divided into experimental group and control group, experimental group includes 11 cases of patients, while control group includes 10 cases of patients. In the experimental group,on the basis of routine medication and regular post-stroke comprehensive rehabilitation training, functional fitness training was performed. In the control group, only routine medication and regular post-stroke comprehensive rehabilitation training was given. The intervention all lasted 4 weeks.Physical fitness test was performed before and after the invention for both Groups. The 2-minute step test(2-MST)was used to assess Physical aerobic endurance of the patients;the30-second arm curl test(30-ACT)and the 30-second chair stand test(30-CST)was used to assess upper and lower limb muscle strength separately;the Berg balance scale(BBS)was used to assess the balance function;the chair sit-and-reach test was used to assess body flexibility capacity;the modified Barthel index(MBI)was used to assess activities of daily living. Results: 1.Before intervention, there was no statistical difference of the general data between the experimental group and the control group(P >0.05).Before intervention, there was no statistical difference in 2-MST,30-ACT,30-CST,BBS,the chair sit-and-reach test and MBI between experimental group and control group(P >0.05),which was comparable.2.After intervention, the 2-minute step test, the Berg balance scale and chair sit-and-reach test:in the experimental group and control group, the results after intervention were higher than before intervention, there were statistically significant differences(P <0.05);and after intervention, there was no significant difference between the two groups(P >0.05).3.After intervention,30-ACT,30-CST and MBI: in the experimental group and control group, the results after intervention were higher than before intervention, there were statistically significant differences(P< 0.05);and after intervention, the results in the experimental group were higher than those in the control group, there were statistically significant differences(P< 0.05).Conclusion: Functional fitness training combined with regular post-stroke comprehensive rehabilitation training can significantly improve the muscle strength of upper and lower limbs and daily activities of patients with both stroke and coronary heart disease.
