Objective: The research objective is to evaluate the current status of intellectual and motor development of children aged 18-30 months in Wuhan, explore the relevant factors that affect children’s intellectual and motor development, and provide a reference for promoting and improving children’s cognitive and motor development in the future. Methods: The author selected 295 children aged 18-30 months randomly who were routinely examined and vaccinated at the Maternal and Child Health Hospital in Jiang’an District and Erqi Street Community Health Service Center of Wuhan from July 2018 to December 2019.A self-designed questionnaire for children’s intelligence and motor development influencing factors was used to survey their parents, and then the Bayley Scales of Infant Development(Chinese Urban Revision)was used to measure children’s mental development index(MDI)and psychomotor development index(PDI).The author applied Epidata 3.0 software to establish a database. After double-entering the collected questionnaire data, the author performed SPSS 25.0 software for statistical analysis. The statistical methods used include descriptive analysis,t test, analysis of variance, simple linear regression analysis, and multiple linear regression analysis. Results: According to the exclusion criteria,295 children aged 18-30 months were eventually enrolled in this study,of whom 50.5% were male and 49.5% were female. The average mental development index of all these children was 108.13 ± 19.80,the average motor development index was 104.25 ± 18.93,the mental retardation rate was 7.1%,and the motor retardation rate was 8.8%.The results of multiple linear regression analysis showed that mother’s education level, mother’s BMI before pregnancy, frequency of mother-child interaction, whether children look at electronic screens during mealtime, children’s reading situation, and children’s sleep conditions have significant effects on children’s intelligence development index.Children’s outdoor activity time, children’s situation of playing with toys are important factors affecting children’s motor development index. Conclusion: The children’s mental and motor development in Wuhan is generally good.Children’s early lifestyles and mothers’ basic conditions have significant impacts on early childhood cognitive and motor development.
