Comparative Study On Different Measurement Methods Of X-Ray Nasopharyngeal Lateral Films Of Children’s Adenoid

Objective: To compare the different measurement methods of children’s adenoid X-ray nasopharynx lateral film with the actual situation of intraoperative endoscopy,so as to provide an important clinical basis for accurate evaluation of adenoid size of children’s adenoid X-ray nasopharynx lateral film.Methods: 111 cases of adenoidectomy(with or without tonsillectomy)in our department during 2018-2019 were selected.The size of adenoids was determined by measuring the A / N ratio of method 1(the traditional hard palatal posterior margin method implemented by radiologists),method 2(the traditional hard palatal posterior margin method implemented by clinicians)and method 3(the improved direct measurement method in this study)respectively,which were compared with the results of endoscopic evaluation during operation.Analyze the comparison results and discuss the related problems.Results:(1)the coincidence rates of methods 1,2 and 3 with intraoperative endoscopic evaluation were 49.5%,55.9% and 69.4%,respectively.(2)Method 1,method 2 and method 3 showed that there was no significant difference between method 1 and method 2(P = 0.347 > 0.05);there was significant difference between method 1 and method 3(P = 0.003 < 0.05);there was significant difference between method 2 and method 3(P = 0.037 <0.05);it suggested that the improved measurement method(method 3)and the traditional measurement method(method 1)There are statistical differences in the measurement results.(3)Spearman correlation analysis showed that: the correlation coefficient between method one and intraoperative endoscopic results was rs = 0.387,P < 0.001;the correlation coefficient between method two and intraoperative endoscopic results was rs = 0.485,P < 0.001;the correlation coefficient between method three and intraoperative endoscopic results was rs = 0.571,P < 0.001.There is a correlation between the three measurement methods of X-ray nasopharynx lateral radiograph and the results of intraoperative endoscopic evaluation.Method three rs value > method two rs value > method one RS value,method three has the highest correlation with the results of intraoperative endoscopic evaluation.Conclusion: In the measurement of adenoid size in children by A/ N ratio of X-ray nasopharynx lateral film,the improved direct measurement method is closer to the actual size of adenoid than the traditional hard palate posterior margin method.
