| Research Purpose:With the increasing demand of the public for health care and the great awakening of selfprotection consciousness,the requirements for the efficiency and quality of nursing services also increase.Due to the particularity of nursing profession,there is a series of problems of lacking professional identity and happiness.The nightingale spirit is the original aspiration of nursing profession,and the nightingale medal winners are the best representatives whose force of example could not be ignored.However,the study of domestic and international professionalism is extremely scarce that we attempt to build a concept framework of professionalism for Nightingale medal winner in China.This lays a solid research foundation for Florence Nightingale professionalism education system of Florence Nightingale professionalism,Besides,this study provides a theoretical guidance on understanding,learning and enriching the Nightingale professionalism.Research Methods:This study used the literature research method and the concept analysis method to clarify the relevant concepts of Nightingale professionalism.The textual stories of 32 Nightingale Medal winners’ secondary materials were summarized by using narrative analysis method.According to the semi-structured interview and narrative analysis method,the primary materials of 4 of the winners were collected,analyzed and summarized.The secondary and primary materials were integrated into a structural sketch of the conceptual framework.Subsequently,two-rounds consultation were conducted by the Delphi expert consultation method to proofread and revised the framework,and then the connotation of each concept was described.Finally,the study discusses the relationship and function of all levels of elements in the conceptual framework of nightingale medal winners’ professional spirit by literature comparison and theoretical analysis.Research Results:The recovery rate of the two-rounds consultation in Delphi was 100%,where the expert authority coefficient was between 0.7 and 0.9.In the first round of correspondence consultation,Kendall harmony coefficient of the primary index and the secondary indicator was 0.238 and0.193,respectively,which were statistically significant（P < 0.01）.In the second round of letter consultation,Kendall’s harmony coefficient of the primary index and the secondary indicator was0.363 and 0.362,respectively,which were statistically significant（P < 0.001）.The variation coefficient of each item in the second round of correspondence consultation ranged from 0 to 0.18,with the full score ratio 0.50 to 1,indicating that expert opinions were relatively coordinated and elements at all levels were scientific and important.A conceptual framework of Nightingale’s professionalism composed of 4 first-level elements and 10 second-level elements is constructed,and the conceptual connotation of the 14 elements are described.The four first-level elements are: I-1 Respect for Life,I-2 Dedication,I-3 Loyalty to Duty,I-4 Leading Demeanor.I-1 Respect for Life includes II-1 Volunteering and II-2 Altruism;I-2Dedication includes II-3 Charity,II-4 Science,II-5 Adventure and II-6 Selflessness;I-3 Devotion includes II-7 Hard Work and II-8 Perseverance;I-4 Leading styles includes II-9 Model Spirit and II-10 Pioneering Spirit.Research Conclusions:（1）The relationship and function of the four first-order elements in the conceptual framework: I-1 respect for life is the first pursuit of Nightingale laureates and plays a fundamental role.I-2 dedication is the driving force of the internalization of the value of "respect for life",which plays a driving and active role.I-3 loyalty to duty plays a role on recognizing and holding of the value pursuit of "Respect for life" while it is difficult to carry out for adjustment and controlment;I-4 style of leadership is a typical example of the value of "Respect for life" expressed by the nightingale winners from the inside out.（2）The role of the ten secondary elements in Nightingale’s conceptual framework of professional spirit: II-1 Voluntary spirit is a strong inspiration of moral conscience;Ⅱ-2 Altruism is the practical observance of ethical standards;Ⅱ-3 spirit of benevolence and II-4 spirit of science are the unity of ethical feelings and professional norms,just like the two wings of angels in white.Ⅱ-5 spirit of adventure and II-6 spirit of selflessness are the combination of moral feelings and professional skills,like a warrior to save the life of danger;Ⅱ-7 spirit of assiduity and II-8 spirit of perseverance are self-regulation in difficult times;Ⅱ-9 Model spirit is the peer identification of professional image;Ⅱ-10 Pioneering spirit is the social identity of professional image.（3）A theoretical comparison of the conceptual framework of Nightingale’s professional spirit:the order of the four dimensions accords with the law of human psychological activities and educational growth,and the conceptual connotation of the four dimensions accords with the concept of "four occupations" in Marxist epistemology. |
