Research Background and Purpose: Bronchial asthma(BA)and chronic obstructive pulmonary disease(COPD),which are two different diseases, are the most common chronic airway inflammatory diseases in clinic. However, the coexistence of the two can often be seen in clinical work. This special population is defined as asthma chronic obstructive pulmonary disease overlap(ACO).At present, many research results show that patients with ACO are more likely to have acute attack than patients with simple asthma or simple chronic obstructive pulmonary disease, with more rapid disease change and progress, worse prognosis, and increased economic burden, which needs extensive attention of clinicians. However, the pathogenesis of ACO is not completely clear. The latest literature suggests that a variety of inflammatory factors are involved in the occurrence and development of ACO.In recent years, toll like receptors(TLRs),as inflammatory markers, play a significant role in autoimmune diseases, infection related diseases and various tumor diseases. However, the expression of eosinophil in the blood of patients with asthma-COPD overlap has not been studied. Therefore, this paper discusses the expression and clinical significance of blood eosinophils TLR2,TLR4,TLR7 and TLR9 in patients with asthma COPD overlap,so as to provide a theoretical basis for the pathogenesis of asthma COPD overlap. Methods: 30 patients with asthma COPD overlap and 30 healthy volunteers in the department of respiratory and critical care medicine of the Second Affiliated Hospital of Shenyang Medical College from december 2019 to december 2021 were collected as the study population. They were divided into asthma COPD overlap group and healthy control group respectively. The name, sex, age, medical history, age of onset, medication history, body mass index(BMI)and smoking history of the study population were collected, and the peripheral venous blood was collected. The expressions of blood eosinophils TLR2,TLR4,TLR7 and TLR9 were detected by flow cytometry.SPSS 26.0 software was used for the statistical analysis. Results: The expressions of TLR2,TLR4,TLR7 and TLR9 in peripheral blood eosinophils of 30 patients in ACO group and 30 patients in healthy control group were compared and analyzed.Results:(1)TLR2: ACO group > healthy control group.(2)TLR4: ACO group > control group.(3)TLR7: ACO group > healthy control group.(4)TLR9: ACO group > healthy control group. There was significant difference in each group(P < 0.05).Conclusion: There are significant differences in the expression of TLR2,TLR4,TLR7 and TLR9 in blood eosinophils between ACO patients and healthy control groups. The expression of TLR2,TLR4,TLR7 and TLR9 in blood eosinophils in ACO patients is higher than that in healthy groups, suggesting that TLR2,TLR4,TLR7,TLR9 and their metabolic pathways may be involved in the occurrence and development of asthma COPD overlapping diseases. |
