| Objective:To explore the relationship between the ratio of hypersensitive C-reactive protein to albumin(HCAR)and body mass index(BMI)in Type 2 diabetes Mellitus(T2DM).Methods:From July 2019 to July 2020,337 type 2 diabetes mellitus patients, hospitalized in the first Department of Endocrinology and Metabolism of the Fourth Affiliated Hospital of China Medical University were selected.According to the level of BMI,the patients were divided into 3 groups:normal-weight patients group(M0:BMI<24kg/m2,n=106),overweight patients group(M1:24kg/m2≤BMI<28 kg/m2.,n=155),and Obese patients group(M2:BMI≥28kg/m2,n=76).Collect the clinical data of each group, then analyze the data with SPSS22.0 software to explore the correlation between HCAR and BMI.Results:1.It has no significant differences in sex, glycosylated hemoglobin(Hb A1c),total cholesterol(TC)and low-density lipoprotein cholesterol(LDL-C),among the three groups(P>0.05).Significant differences existed in age,the course of diabetes, fasting plasma glucose(FPG),fasting insulin(FINS),fasting C-peptide(FCP),HOMA-IR,albumin(Alb),triglyceride(TG),uric acid(UA)and hypersensitive C-reactive protein(hs-CRP)(P<0.05).2.The Spearman rank correlation analysis indicated that HCAR showed positive relationships with glycosylated hemoglobin(Hb A1c),fasting plasma glucose(FPG),fasting insulin(FINS),fasting C-peptide(FCP),HOMA-IR,total cholesterol(TC),triglyceride(TG),low density lipoprotein cholesterol(LDL-C),uric acid(UA),BMI,and negative relationship with the course of diabetes(P<0.05),but not with age(P>0.05).3.The best cut-off value of HCAR determined by ROC curve(0.020803)was used to divide the subjects into two groups. The rate of overweight or obesity, fasting plasma glucose(FPG),fasting C-peptide(FCP),HOMA-IR,glycosylated hemoglobin(Hb A1c),triglyceride(TG),total cholesterol(TC),low-density lipoprotein cholesterol(LDL-C),and uric acid(UA)in high-HCAR group were higher than those in low-HCAR group, and the statistical differences were significant(P<0.05).4.Binary Logistic regression analysis showed that fasting plasma glucose, fasting C-peptide,triglyceride,uric acid, albumin, hypersensitive C-reactive protein, and HCAR were risk factors for overweight or obesity in type 2 diabetes mellitus, while age was a protective factor.Conclusion:1.HCAR has a correlation with the BMI level in patients with type 2diabetes mellitus:the higher BMI is,the higher HCAR is.HCAR may be a risk factor for overweight or obesity in patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus.2.HCAR is associated with HOMA-IR,fasting plasma glucose(FPG),fasting C-peptide(FCP),glycosylated hemoglobin(Hb A1c),triglyceride(TG),total cholesterol(TC),low-density lipoprotein cholesterol(LDL-C),and uric acid(UA)levels. And HCAR may be a risk factor for other metabolic diseases.Patients with higher HCAR may have more severe metabolic disorders. |
