The Application Analysis Of 8f Chest Drainage Tube For Thoracoscopic Lobectomy:A Propensity Score Matching Analysis

Purpose To investigate the feasibility and reliability of placing 8F thoracic drainage tube after thoracoscopic lobectomy and its superiority over 24 F thoracic drainage tube.Methods A retrospective data analysis was conducted in 275 patients who underwent thoracoscopic lobotomy in the First Department of Thoracic Surgery of Hebei Provincial People’s Hospital from January2019 to October 2020,and the patients were divided into the 8F thoracic drainage tube group(experimental group)and the 24 F thoracic drainage tube group(control group).After the comparative analysis of propensity score matching,109 pairs of patients were successfully matched 1:1,and there was no statistical difference between the baseline data of the experimental group and the control group after matching.Days of drainage,total drainage volume,postoperative hospital stay,postoperative pain score and related postoperative complications were compared between the two groups after matching.Results After propensity score matching,a total of 218 patients were included in the study.Compared to control group,the experimental group had shorter drainage time,fewer drainage volume,shorter postoperative hospital stay,lower pain scores on postoperative days 24 h and 48 h,lower incidence of postoperative drainage orifice exudation(P <0.05).However,there was no statistical significance in postoperative 24 h pain score(P=0.420),subcutaneous emphysema(P=0.424),arrhythmia(P=0.757),lower respiratory tract infection(P=0.775),pulmonary leakage(P=0.603),atelectasis(P=0.391),and second operation caused by intrathoracic hemorrhage(P=0.155)between the two groups.Conclusion The application of an 8F thoracic drainage tube after thoracoscopic lobectomy has significantly shorten the drainage time,reduced the total drainage volume,reduced the postoperative pain degree,shortened the hospital day,do not increase the incidence of related complications,and effectively detected postoperative intrathoracic hemorrhage.So,it is considered as an effective,safe and reliable drainage method.
