Objective: Objective to investigate the role and significance of serum25-hydroxyvitamin D [25(OH)D)]and paraoxonase-1(PON-1)activity in elderly patients with Type 2 diabetes mellitus(T2DM)complicated with Sarcopenia(SP).Methods: Methods: a total of 135 inpatients and outpatients in Department of endocrinology of our hospital from September 2019 to July 2020 were collected and divided into three groups: simple SP group(45 cases),simple T2 DM group(45 cases),T2 DM combined with SP group(45 cases);45 healthy elderly people matched in age and gender in physical examination center of our hospital were collected as normal control group(Con group,45 cases). The general clinical data, related blood biochemical indexes and skeletal muscle mass index(SMI)were collected. The serum PON-1 activity of all subjects was determined by enzyme linked immunosorbent assay(ELISA).Pearson correlation analysis was used to analyze the correlation between serum PON-1 activity and each index in elderly T2 DM patients with SP;logistic regression analysis was used to analyze the influencing factors of elderly T2 DM patients with SP.Results:(1)Compared with con group, the activity of PON-1 in SP group and T2 DM group decreased significantly(154.53 ± 82.34)vs(228.28 ± 101.94),(141.46± 78.16)vs(228.28 ± 101.94),and 25(OH)D decreased significantly(16.65 ± 3.83)vs(28.23 ± 4.05),Compared with con group, the activity of PON-1 in T2 DM combined with SP group was significantly lower(113.59 ± 72.53)vs(228.28 ± 101.94),and the activity of 25(OH)D was significantly lower(6.27 ± 1.53)vs(28.23 ± 4.05)(P < 0.05);(2)Pearson correlation analysis showed that the level of PON-1 activity was positively correlated with the level of 25(OH)D(r = 0.632,P = 0.045);(3)Logistic regression analysis showed that HbA1c(β = 0.258,or = 1.261),TG(β = 0.345,or =1.316),LDL-C(β = 0.375,or = 1.321),HDL-C(β =-0.362,or = 0.378),PON-1activity(β =-0.416,or = 0.836)and 25(OH)D(β =-0.414,or = 0.796)were the influencing factors of elderly T2 DM with SP.Conclusion: The serum level of 25(OH)D and the activity of PON-1 were decreased in elderly patients with T2 DM complicated with SP. |
