Under the background of the continuous expanding scale of the elderly population in China, with the rapid development of medical and health services, medical consumption and health consumption of the elderly have gradually paid attention to as an important part of the consumption structure of the elderly population. However, under the efforts of the country and the society, medical and health undertakings have made remarkable achievements at the same time,we should also note that with the increase of the number of elderly population,in medical and health care consumption, there are still many problems to be solved, such as differences in the distribution of urban and rural medical resources, the imbalance of the quality of medical resources and the lack of quality medical resources in rural areas. Therefore, under the background of population aging,to study the different influencing factors of the elderly in medical consumption and health consumption is of great significance to the rational distribution of medical resources and improve the overall health level of the elderly. This paper uses the data in “China Health and Pension Tracing Survey”,combines with Grossman health demand theory and health belief model, and analyzes the factors affecting health consumption and health consumption in urban and rural areas, and discusses the differences between health consumption in urban and rural elderly. The results found that income had an impact on the medical and health care consumption of the urban and rural elderly,The higher the income,The more medical and health care consumption; The influence of education on medical consumption and health consumption of urban and rural elderly is different,In terms of health care consumption,With the improvement of the level of education being received,The higher the health care spending for the urban and rural elderly,But in the area of medical consumption,The level of education has no similar linear relationship with medical expenditure,And the impact of this factor on medical expenditure varies between urban and rural areas,Rural elderly only by education level and above will have an impact on medical expenditure,The medical expenditure of the elderly in urban areas has nothing to do with the level of education;Older people of different age structures have different needs for medical consumption and health care consumption,And there are differences between urban and rural areas. In terms of medical consumption,Medical consumption for the aged 70-79 is higher than 60-69 and 80 and older,In terms of health care consumption,More health consumption of the elderly with 90 and above in rural areas,Urban 70-89 middle and elderly health consumption;Self-evaluation of health level and chronic diseases only affect the medical consumption of the urban and rural elderly,Without affecting its health care consumption,The worse the self-assessed health level,The higher the medical consumption,The medical consumption of the elderly with chronic diseases is higher than those without chronic diseases; The number of children only affects the medical consumption of the urban elderly,The more the number of children,The higher the medical consumption of the elderly;Medical insurance participation only affects the medical consumption of the rural elderly,Elderly rural medical consumption is higher than those who do not attend medical insurance. On the basis of systematic analysis,a series of countermeasures and suggestions were proposed to guide the elderly to establish correct health awareness, improve medical service quality, and standardize the health care consumer market.
