Objective:To observe the effect of hyperbaric oxygen(HBO)-assisted antivenom serum on the treatment of Viper Snakebite and its influence on the body’s oxidative stress and inflammatory response,to provide a reference for effective treatment of Viper Snakebite. Methods:The patients bitten by Viper Snakebite were admitted to the emergency department of Nanchong Central Hospital from January 2018 to January 2020,and those who met the inclusion criteria were collected as the research objects. The patients who suffered Viper Snakebite were divided into treatment group and control group according to the random number table method and were treated by routine treatments such as anti-venom serum after admission, the treatment group was treated with HBO therapy in addition. The general data and related clinical indicators of the two groups were collected, including the following two parts:1)Clinical effect indicators:①Clinical experimental indicators:prothrombin time(prothrombin time,PT),activated partial thromboplastin time(activated partial thromboplastin time(APTT),thrombin time(TT),fibrinogen(FIB),alanine aminotransferase(ALT),aspartate transaminase(AST),Serum creatinine(Cr),blood urea nitrogen(BUN);②Clinical signs:1)the degree of swelling of the affected limb;2)Oxidative stress and inflammation indicators:superoxide dismutase(SOD),malondialdehyde(MDA),interleukin-6(IL-6),tumor necrosis factor-α(tumor necrosis factor-α,TNF-α),C-reactive protein(CRP).Analyze the differences of indicators before and after treatment within and between the two groups.Data were analyzed using SPSS version 20.0 statistical software and P<0.05 were used as statistically significant.Results:1.There were no statistically significant differences in gender, age, bite location, admission time and severity of illness between two groups(P>0.05).2.The differences of SOD,MDA,IL-6,TNF-α,CRP,PT,TT,APTT,FIB,ALT,AST,Cr,BUN between test group and control group before treatment were not statistically significant(P>0.05).After treatment, the above indicators were statistically significant(P<0.05);There was no significant difference in limb swelling between test group and control group before treatment(P>0.05).The degree of limb swelling in experimental group was significantly lower than that in control group on 3 and 6 days after treatment, which was statistically significant(P<0.05).The incidence of adverse reactions between experimental group and control group was not significantly different(P>0.05).3.The total effective rate of clinical treatment in the experimental group was higher than that in the control group(P<0.05).The total effective rate in the lower limbs was higher than that in the upper limbs by comparing the different bite sites in two groups, but the difference was not statistically significant.(P>0.05).The total effective rate of test group was higher than that of the control group via comparing the same bite, but the difference was not statistically significant(P>0.05),too.There was a significant difference in the total effective rate between test group with control group when the admission time was ≤3h(P<0.05).The total effective rate was higher when the admission time ≤3h compared with>3h,but the difference was not statistically significant(P>0.05).Conclusion:The results of the study confirmed that HBO-assisted anti-venom serum for the treatment of agkistrodon’s bites can effectively inhibit the oxidative stress response and inflammation in the patient’s body, improve liver and kidney function, and blood coagulation indicators. It can also significantly alleviate the swelling of the affected limb;Early(treatment time≤3h)hyperbaric oxygen adjuvant therapy can significantly improve the clinical efficacy of patients, and has important clinical significance for organ protection.HBO adjuvant antivenom therapy is expected to be an effective method for the treatment of Agkistrodon viper bite.
